Very open and understanding owner. I wasn't there for very long, but the training was intense. Great place to go if you want to become a fighter, or if you want to see results within 2 weeks.

I had called so many places trying to find more personal training with conditioning and self defense. I am so happy I came across Savage MMA. This is exactly what I wanted. Josh Hillman is absolutely the most outstanding trainer. He makes sure I'm working myself up to harder workouts and walks me through form and breathing. He always explains everything thoroughly. I have been going for 5 weeks and my family, friends, and coworkers have noticed a difference. I always look forward to coming here!

The negative reviews on here are unwarranted. The classes aren't your Planet Fitness/hand holding, stress free, treadmill classes. It's a mixed martial arts gym and the owner is a fighter, not Dr. Phil or some personal trainer who motivates you for a paycheck. Josh wants his students to engage, learn, grow and succeed. He's not there to tell you how many push-ups to do or say "c'mon you can do one more c'mon". More of a rhetorical "Why aren't you doing more?" That being said, you get out what you put into the classes.

If you only want to workout, the conditioning classes are frequent and you cannot beat the price for what you get.

If you want to train, great place.

Don't waste your time if your looking to teach your kids the intagibles like responsibility and accountability...staff doesn't have them so you know they won't be taught.

By far the worst mma and fitness place to go to. They have no accomplishments yet a HUGE ego. And the trainers are rude!!

I first walked into this gym for personal fitness, which evolved into wanting to learn self defense then to competing in mixed martial arts. Even in group classes, I received personal attention from the beginning from knowledgeable trainers/ coaches who do much more than give workouts and drills then watch you do them.

The coaches have some of the highest accomplishments I have seen:
recognition of achievements from the state in martial arts and working with youth
several black belts in different styles
Several national and world championship titles
A visual representation of their accomplishments is on display right inside the door.

It is so obvious the coaches love what they do and are confident and knowledgeable in their field. They are always educating themselves on new training strategies to assist clients to the best of their ability. They share advice on everything from exercise and nutrition to rehabilitation, martial arts and general life situations. It is some of the best advice I have ever received.

Price isn't discussed until they know you are serious about showing up and putting in the work. It is ALWAYS recommended that you show up for a training session first. That way you know what you're paying for and coaches can assess your ability and attitude. You work with the coaches to determine whether this place is a good fit for you, and THEN price is discussed. They are very flexible and try to work with what you are able to afford.

There is an astounding sense of community in this center that I have not experienced at any other facility! Everyone who attends are the most supportive, encouraging and motivated people I have ever met. Everyone wants to see you achieve your goals and will be cheering you on from the sideline at every step of the way. It creates a contagious environment to where everyone wants to work and do their best!

I started savage June of 2014. It was a difficult time for myself. I was constantly using my inhaler and my weight became a real problem after having two girls. As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed with a smile from the owner. He took the time to sit with me, and discuss my goals and aspirations. I started at savage with only the intent to loose weight. Since then, I have ran in two warrior dashes, started training with the mma class, gained muscle, lost weight, had skin removal surgery, competed, and maintained my asthma. EVERYONE is a blessing and has been the greatest support. The coaches are top notch and know what they are doing. Savage MMA is going places and I'm proud to be part of this establishment.

Just left a self defense class with my 13 yr old daughter and her 13 yr old friend. Josh Hillman taught these 2 girls how to protect themselves way better than I expected! Just watching him and listening you can feel his passion. I am so happy I brought them and will be returning for more classes!
