As a busy professional I was searching for a gym that would provide programming/training guidance as well as easy access. Capital Strength delivers in spades. The daily workouts written on the board, the flexibility and knowledge of the staff, and the fact that I can walk in and get right to work without waiting for equipment all contribute to an excellent experience. Matt and his team do a great job and I cannot recommend Capital Strength enough. Keep up the good work!

***HIGHLY RECOMMENDED*** Capital Strength was recommended to me by a friend. My experience here, upon my first visit, was like no other gym I have ever been to. The coaches were welcoming and made me feel very comfortable during my workout session. The facility was noticeably clean and well kept. The selection of equipment provides for any workout needs. I would recommend this gym for someone who wants an intimate gym setting with access to personal training and small group training needs.

I so enjoy this gym! It feels like home, like my own personal gym. The instructors are so attentive and so knowledgable. They give feedback in a gentle way and are very supportive of your goals - no matter what they are. I often feel like they give as much attention as one wants. They are great at meeting people where they are, too. The gym is always watching, and not in a judgmental way, but in a way where they want to help you get the most out of everything you do.

They are not "just a gym". They offer really well-done free seminars to further your fitness journey and they offer a lot of personal care in different ways. They have helped me through an injury and rehab, body composition, nutrition, programming and more. Their programing is exceptional as are their adaptations and modifications for those who need it. The programming helps me enjoy ownership of my own workouts, instead of someone just telling me what to do and yelling at me to finish.

If you are new to lifting, don't be put off by all the free weights and bar bells. Even though I am a somewhat veteran lifter I have been so impressed by how welcoming and kind they are to people who haven't ever stepped foot in a gym. They took my 60-something mom in who has never lifted a weight in her life and she's stuck with it and loves it!
Highly recommend!

I love this gym!!! As a woman over 60 I never thought I could feel as strong & fit as I do now!! I even skied down a couple of black diamonds last week!!! So happy I tried strength training with Capital Strength!!!

Awesome experience! Everyone is friendly and works with your level of experience. They push you to grow, but work with you. Every trainer contributes to helping you, while a personal trainer dives deeper to ensure you get anything you need. Aaron specifically has helped me significantly understand my goals and how to accomplish them. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to put on muscle mass or lose fat!

I joined Capital Strength and Conditioning about 3 months ago and it has been the best decision I could have made. I worked out religiously for years at a gym in North Raleigh but sadly it had to shut it's doors. I searched a little over a year for a gym that had the family vibe with the knowledge trainers need to help me grow and improved in my physical fitness. I didn't find it in the other gyms I had tried but when I walked through the doors of Capital Strength and Conditioning I knew I had found what I had been looking for. Then I got to know all the trainers and it really felt like home! They are so knowledgable, kind, and want to help you improve! No question is too small for them!! They want you to succeed! I love that and love this gym!! You NEED to be here!!

This place is a gem. Here you won't find any gimmicks but only effective, efficient training tailored to your goals. In just an hour and half of training Matt corrected my form on the full-body lifts, helped me hit personal bests on the squat, deadlift, and overhead press, showed me how to safely challenge myself, and instilled confidence in my ability to continue progressing. He took the time to answer all my questions and to make sure I understood how to tweak my programming for my goals.. If I'm ever in Raleigh again I'll be back!

My wife and I have been training at Capital Strength & Conditioning for well over a year, and we love it. The coaches are super helpful, and the gym is small enough that they can get to know you personally - to guide you through your individual challenges. We do a combination of strength training classes, metcons, and personal training sessions with coach Garrett, which provide short, impactful workouts that have really made a difference for us. I can't say enough good things about Capital.

I am not much of a review writer, but this place has certainly compelled me to do so. I signed up with my trainer, Danny, close to two months ago and I can genuinely say it was one of the better decisions of my life. From the onset of the first consultation, to experiencing the level of care and detail they show clients, to the upscale equipment, to the detailed programs for each client, I could not be happier. This gym builds an atmosphere of dedication and understanding that is tailored to your goals. Everyone I have met here authentically wants to train you up to reach your desired results. In only two months I have noticed significant progress as Danny has taken a very thoughtful approach to my strength training. This place is a nice respite from the daily grind and truly is a place I look forward to going to. I could not recommend Capital any higher, it truly is life changing. Keep up the good work guys!

This gym is not a joke. The hour block of training will get you what you need and more. The staff is there to push you and help you reach your goals whether it be getting stronger, faster, bigger, or smaller. They're extremely knowledgeable on all things fitness and are available to talk whenever you have questions. The facility is clean and well kempt which is a big plus.

Love Capital Strength & Conditioning! I wanted to get stronger and learn weightlifting. Eric W. has been coaching me for a couple months now, and I feel much stronger. He was helpful at working through some old movement patterns that cause nagging injuries. The focus is on working hard on your goals, but not to the point of injury and not at the expense of form or recovery. I highly recommend CSC and Eric.

Great gym. I have worked with Lauren, Garrett, Eric and Dylan. All the coaches are really knowledgeable and make you feel comfortable. They are always there to guide you personally, even during group workout sessions. Finally found a gym where I am excited to go and workout everyday!!

I would definitely recommend Capitol Strength and Conditioning to anyone who wants to get started in a fitness program; either one on one training or the group classes. The trainers are great and the classes are not crazy big - you'll actually get to know the people in your class, as they are working right along side of you.

I'd also recommend Capitol if you are an experienced/advanced athlete looking to get to the next level. They have all kinds of equipment to challenge you and use solid, proven programs to get you where you want to go.

They offer a free trial session, give them a try!

I moved from Austin TX to Raleigh NC a few months ago and have found Capital Strength and Conditioning to be a perfect fit for me. The coaches really care about their members and it shows in each and every class that I have attended. Whether you want a great met con cardio session to get your heart rate pumping (sled pushes anyone?), or a strength class that focuses on quality movement and form, this gym has it all. And because the classes are capped you can be sure to get quality 1x1 coaching in a friendly group setting.

I'm 34 years old and joining Capital Strength and Conditioning has genuinely changed my life. It's hard to overstate the benefits I've derived from working with the owner, Matt, and the great staff there. Since I joined a couple months ago, I've had the chance to work with each coach - Nick, Lauren, Dylan, Garrett, Elizabeth and Danny - and they are all incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated to helping me accomplish my goals. Everyone takes a genuine interest in how you are doing, personally and relative to your goals. No one sits around. There are no egos. Everyone has a common purpose, and it's palpable with the members there. There are no gimmicks. To see results, it takes hard work, plain and simple. But with the Capital team behind you, you will understand exactly what you need to do to accomplish what you want. About 2.5 months after joining, I've dropped from ~200 lbs to around 185 while becoming significantly stronger. I've gone from a guy who eats pizza at least once a week, to someone my friends turn to for advice on healthy eating habits. Sure, that has taken some level of personal commitment, but the Capital staff taught me everything I know and has been there to help every step of the way. If you are serious about getting healthier, and in better shape, schedule a consultation. That's what I did, and I'm in better shape than I've ever been. I don't want to knock any other gyms or workout programs. Everyone has their own preferences, but to me, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't consider what Capital Strength and Conditioning has to offer.

I give Captial Strength a five star rating because this is the right place for anyone who is trying to lose weight, tone and gain muscles, or work on their cardio.The coaches are very professional, and help me specify my workouts depending on my needs. After two weeks of training, I saw a huge difference in my weight and muscle toning. They help people excersise safely, there is a great nutrition plan, and they monitor workouts very closely. Overall, Capital Strength is a great place, with a great atmosphere. I thank the owner of this establishment for everything they've done, and how much they have helped me grow. It really has had a positive influence on my life.

This has to be one of the best investments that I have ever made. The staff are extremely professional and approachable. The facility and equipment are exactly what you need to focus directly on optimal strength and conditioning gains. The coaches are always there to provide you with clear feedback and pointers to ensure that you are getting the most out of every session. The workout programs are built by the coaching staff but are also catered toward your progression. This place and the staff have completely changed the way I think about strength and conditioning training. I will be moving soon and this will be one of the things that I miss the most about living in Raleigh.

Great gym for anyone interested in powerlifting or generally getting stronger. The small class size with the same consistent coaches creates a dynamic that's impossible at other gyms because the coaches provide advice based on your own strengths, weaknesses, and goals and watch how you progress over time. Really fun, friendly group too and I always look forward to my time there.

I am a long time runner and cyclist. I have avoided gyms - but got a starter pack for a birthday present 3 months ago. The trainers are amazing and work directly with me (with encouragement and motivation). Dylan has been an awesome personal trainer and helps a ton with form and posture. He has given me the confidence to go the gym on a regular basis. I have had great semi private sessions with Garrett and Lauren. They are extremely helpful and it feels like a 1:1 session. I highly recommend Capital Strength & Conditioning.

Capital Strength and Conditioning is a phenomenal place! All of the coaches are very knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely care about the members. Whether you are an advanced lifter, or just a novice, the coaches here will do everything they can to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. There is no judgement, and the coaches will do anything they can to help you improve your lifestyle. I am constantly recommending this place to my friends and family. Capital Strength and Conditioning is by far the highlight of my move to Raleigh! Everyone from the trainers to the clients is wonderful and supportive, and it feels great to train in such an enthusiastic atmosphere. This is my first experience with joining a gym and having a personal trainer, and I have to say that nothing could ever beat this experience. Danny Steele is incredible and has pushed me to accomplish my fitness goals and I'm proud to say that in just 4 months of training at Capital Strength, I've gone from working out only when it's convenient to loving work outs, and lifting more than I ever thought possible. You would be lucky to get to train with any of the coaches here - it's absolutely worth the investment and more!!

Joining Capital Strength has been an amazing experience so far! I am so happy to be doing personal training with Coach Danny Steele and my friend Caroline. It truly feels like a family and I have seen some great results. Each week I am getting stronger in my weight training and increasing my weight each week. I can now even do a 3 minute plank! We have been training for close to six months and can't wait to continue into the new year!

Hands down the best experience I've had at a gym. The classes are organized, challenging, and most of all FUN! It can be intimidating joining a new gym and most places don't "get it". Not here. The entire staff does an amazing job making you feel welcome and comfortable from day 1. I've primarily trained with Lauren and Dylan and it's obvious how passionate they are about helping you achieve your goals. They've done a great job building a community that I'm proud to be a part of.

I have been training at Capital Strength and Conditioning for a little over two months. I'll be honest, going in I had expectations of being surrounded by a bunch of "meat heads" lol (sorry). I couldn't have been more wrong. All of the coaches are very welcoming, friendly, and supportive. The other members are equally as awesome. Everyone gets excited to see members meet a goal. The entire experience has been a pleasure and I can't wait to see where this takes me.

This has been one of the best experiences I have ever had with a gym. I am motivated each morning to get up very early to go and workout because I know the trainers are going to make me sweat and get my money's worth. They have a workout planned for you each day you go in and I love that. I got so tired of going to the gym and not knowing what to do. So happy that I found this place.

Capital Strength is by far the best gym I have ever been to. It is a very different experience but will make you feel like you are truly working out. The mesh between cardio and weight training is amazing and I love the team atmosphere. The coaches are great and really push you to perform at your best. Lastly, I love the communication between the coaches and the members. Every week they send an in-depth email about what to expect that week and any new tips and words of encouragement. If you are looking to push yourself to new fitness heights, Capital is the place!

As an avid at-home exerciser I was a bit apprehensive about signing up for a strength training gym. The last time I took a weight lifting class was in college, and it felt intimidating to try to get back into it. I decided to give it a go and signed up for a free consultation. When I left I knew I had to give this place a try. I'm so glad I did.

Why you should come here:

1. The trainers are awesome. They get to know you, they find out your limits, and they help you push past them.

2. The environment. There's a community feel here that makes this place really special. Since people love coming here, you see the same faces over and over again, and you start to bond with folks. I had a really good idea of who I'd see at the gym at 6:15 am on a Monday or 6:30 am on a Wednesday.

3. The guesswork is gone. I didn't have to figure out what to do. Having access to nice gym equipment is great, but it's frustrating if I have to figure out what to do with that equipment. When I got to the gym the workouts were already written up on the white boards. I just had to do them. If I didn't know what a move was the trainers were there and corrected my form as needed. They also have metabolic conditioning classes, which are great so you can simultaneously work on strength and speed.

If everyone could experience a gym like this I'm confident that more people would regularly exercise. If you're in the triangle definitely check them out.

Side note: Any gym that you're willing to wake up at 5:15 in the morning to go to, and drive for 30 minutes to get there is a winner. I'm bummed that I couldn't take them with me.
