***** FRAUD ALERT*****
Impossible to cancel membership.
Had used this location while traveling for work spending about half the month here. A year later I have stopped traveling to the area BUT THE BILLS HAVE NOT! They make it impossible to cancel a membership online or VIA phone. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, can't imagine how many MARINES are getting billed while deployed because they can't go in person. DEPLORABLE.
Planet fitness being a chain offers a reliable experience from facility to facility. This particular location is clean and well equipped, there are enough machines and cables to keep from having any long waits for equipment. The staff are nice and responsive. Will visit again for sure.

Love it. Very friendly staff, they always remember me. Say "hi" and "good night" etc. Good vibes. Good people. Good choice of machinery. I wish there were more Smith machines but, I don't know if you could ever have enough. Also, I wish there was a sauna or steam room. A little upset they decided to go to contracts even though they advertise "no commitments" however, monthly memberships are more than reasonable for what you get. I've been going for over a year now and always leave pleased. I definitely recommend.

I have been to other plant fitness locations and this one does not impress. Alot of the machines are ripping or falling apart. For most machines you can't increase the weight with extra weight. The bench area is cluttered. They kinda have machines of the same body focus spread out all over the gym (other locations I have been to have the areas organized).
I do like they have a stretch area separated from everything else. And that they are 24 hours.

Great place to get a work out and the staff is great! Victoria is super friendly and always has a welcoming attitude!

I believe the facilities could be a hair nicer... but, the equipment is usually maintained pretty well. Can get hectic at peak hours, but is a nice place for a very reasonable price. Employees here are usually always friendly!

The staff is friendly and there is a decent variety of weights. Due to the location and price the location is usually FULL right after 5 o'clock. If you can avoid it, go during a less busy time. Your workout will be much more enjoyable!

I went to one in Las Vegas recently and this one had it beat. The place is clean and the staff are very helpful and professional. If you're looking for a great place to exercise in Jacksonville, look no further. 24/7 operation, except certain holidays.

BEWARE ITS A GUN FREE ZONE!!!!! GOOD LUCK. Just want to say thanks for ALL MILITARY SERVICEMEN thanks for your service but this place supposedly a JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE? yea right more like a NON-AMERICAN/ANTI 2ND AMENDMENT GYM wanted to search my purse for firearms and there is NOT A SIGN ON THE DOOR NO WHERE they showed it to me and its on the wall where it say LEAVE YOUR JACKSONVILLE HIGHBROW ATTITUDE HERE!!!! Phuck this place very anti-american they DO NOT SUPPORT THE 2ND AMENDMENT this is a phuckin military town please

I love how knowledgeable the staff is, the massage chair and tables are fantastic, asks it really is a non-judment zone. You can go get a great workout and not feel stared at. There is also a 30 minute express workout that lets you get a full body workout in one little room. If you are looking for a gym I highly highly recommend planet fitness.

Great selection of machines. If your looking for a quick workout try the express fitness areas. I've never had to wait for a machine to clear up even during busy hours. Great place to get summer ready!

When I left NC and the Marines 2 years ago, I left planet fitness all the information I was told to in order to cancel my account. Assuming I had closed all my memberships in NC, I moved back to MD. About a year later, planet fitness overdrew my bank account so I called to cancel my account... again. They told me I owed almost $200 and could only cancel in the NC store... So the charges continue. I now "owe" almost $300 and it goes up monthly. I'm a disabled vet with bad anxiety and can't leave my house SO my mother came all the way to NC to cancel this account for me, me on the phone with my personal information, and they still wouldn't close it. After a long, angry debate, the account was finally closed and the "owed, passed due" amount of over $200 was paid. I will never sign up for a planet fitness membership in any state again.

Alright so them planet fitness is setup more for someone who wants to work on cardio. Working on bench, dead lift, or squatting can be a bit of a challenge do to not enough equipment. I have been a big fan of planet fitness for their ability to cater to everybody's needs but this one just doesn't have a good mix between cardio and weight training and it is the only one in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

I know it's only $10/mo but you truly get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor and find an alternative, ANY alternative to this pf. From being approached by a panhandler(in the middle of the day) to weights being dropped, this place is anything but a no judgement zone. The women working the front desk are always nice but that's where it ends. As a final note, I had to inform them that a sprinkler(in the ceiling) in the bathroom was leaking?? Seriously?? Join at your own risk.

I love coming here, the staff is always friendly they greet me when I arrive and when I leave. There's lots of equipment to choose from and never a wait for anything. The locker rooms are extremely tidy and big - make sure to bring your lock for the locker :) This is the first gym I have ever signed up for and am very happy with my choice - I am already seeing results, I always look forward to going to PF!

Horrible place. Basically got stolen from. I called in January to cancel my membership. Said everything was good to go. Was not informed I had to send a certified letter. Later, I saw i was still being billed. Called, could never get a manager on the phone. Went through my bank and planet fitness returned the money from point of cancellation. That it was all over. Nope. Tried rejoining where I moved and now I can't join because now they say I owe them $90. Yet again. Manager is no where to be found. Talked to Amanda on the phone and she informed me there is no notation on my account of me cancelling. Seriously? She is stating I will not be able to rejoin until that is paid, even though she can see I haven't been since January. So aggravated. Called corporate, no help because there privately owned. I'll be positing reviews everywhere I can.

A good gym, for me.
I stopped in while passing through Jacksonville, and the facility was everything I've come to expect from Planet Fitness. A big, comfortable building; plenty of machines and free weights and cardio equipment; the hydro massage and other perks; a clean, private-feeling men's locker room; a stretch room -- the works! Also, the staff member that checked me in was friendly and laid-back. Lots of parking, too.
In the end: zero complaints, and I'll probably return if ever again in the area.
Much thanks to everyone involved with this gym. Keep up the good work :)

Been going there for a year and a half. Trying to find a trainer there to see what is the best machine to lose weight. Have to lose a lot of weight before September going on a cruise. Can not find a trainer. They are to busy or off the day i go in.

I love this gym. It is enough equipment in the gym that the is very little waiting if any. The staff are always friendly and very welcoming. The hydro bed is amazing. Shannon the personal trainer is awesome and know his stuff. The price is affordable. A gym that's staffed all the time is a plus. The machinces are very well maintained and always clean.

This is the best price for the most options. I pay $20 so I can tan all winter if I choose. I priced the gyms near my house thinking I may try to do something closer. I was shocked to hear prices anywhere from $80 - $170 for one person with no tanning! Their reasoning for this you have access to a personal trainer. Well guess what....you get that at Planet Fitness too. I've been there since they have opened their doors and it looks like I'm not going anywhere!
