Before I started Pilates, I noticed certain movements in everyday life had me feeling pretty inflexible. Since I'm watching my mom struggle with hip problems that limit her ability to walk long distances, I wanted to do something to change that trajectory in my own life. I've been doing Pilates about 6 months now, and I definitely feel more flexible. My core is getting stronger and my balance is improving each week. As I progress in classes, I'm able to do things I couldn't do a few weeks ago. All the instructors help you find your range of motion and are able to modify moves in the event your body isn't quite ready for them yet. Everyone is encouraged to do their best and find what works for their body. If you're new to Pilates, don't worry. The atmosphere is very welcoming to newcomers, and you'll find yourself feeling comfortable in no time.
