Great to see that there is a Krava Maga place in the greater Charlotte, NC area. If you do not know what Krav Maga is I highly suggest that you do some research and then consider contacting and/or checking a place like this out.
I've been an FTF member almost 4 years now have learned a lot, gained some levels but lots more to learn. I've learned other styles and gained levels but Krav Maga is more sensible .. Thx to all the instructors and trainers .. Lee

This place was not a very impressive school. the teachers are alright but the program itself is not very realistic and vry little rl self defense.

John Doe, I doubt if your opinion will be widely shared.
A little perspective here: The owner you mention has facilities in both Charlotte and Gastonia, and he teaches in both places. Clearly he can't be at both centers all the time. I've been in many classes with and have found him unfailingly patient, helpful, and courteous to his students, as well as being a talented instructor.
By the way, any particular reason you aren't willing to use your real name?
I went for the intro courses and left slightly disappointed. The staff is very nice and very friendly. The instructors on both occasions however left me unimpressed. I wasn't expecting anything glamorous or hard core but perhaps going over the technique how and why it's effective etc... would have been nice for the intro classes. This place reminded me of an old tae kwon do class I used to take in that the moves were pretty much the same and follow through was lacking. Perhaps I'll give it a 3rd try and see if i change my mind as it does seem like a nice school and i like the staff but first impressions are important and i was simply not impressed.
Attended for a few months and loved it! Everyone is very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.
I've been attending classes at FTF Charlotte for a little over seven months. I have nothing but the highest praise for the staff, instructors, and fellow students. I've lost roughly 20 lbs since I started and have noticeably slimmed down. Not only am I getting in shape, but I'm learning how to fight and defend myself in the most effective way possible. In addition, my confidence and situational awareness have greatly improved, making me less of a target.
I highly recommend FTF Charlotte!
I have been going to this school for a few years now and it completely changed my life. I lost a lot of weight and gained many friendships that also changed my life. When I first started I was so intimidated because of my size but everyone there was so encouraging and friendly. I love the atmosphere, the people, and the instructors. I don't know what john doe review is talking about because the owner is one of the most amazing mentors I know. He has a way of knowing what each person needs and how to motivate them. I am pregnant now and I respect him so much that if my child is a boy I am naming him after the owner. That's how much I love that place and the people in it. It has something for everyone from beginners to advanced levels. I loved everything I learned there from the fighting skills, to the PROPER way to exercise and how to eat better. What I treasure most of what I learned there is the mental lessons that extend all through-out every single aspect of my life. This place is a God-send and if you apply yourself and put in time you will be amazed at the results you will receive.
