Love flywheel! I prefer over CycleBar. The instructors are super motivational and will get you through the tough workouts. My favorite instructor is Jenna!

I've gone to Flywheel Charlotte on and off for about two years now. I thought about going with 3 stars instead of 4; however, I always have such a great workout that I cannot justify 3, even with the cons listed below.

Pros:
-Top notch instructors: I've liked some more than others, but primarily that is due to song choice. All are motivating and upbeat and I get a great workout.
-Current music: I used to attend YMCA cycle classes and never got much out of it. This was mainly due to song selection. I don't mind some oldies in the mix, but Flywheel stays very current.
-Bikes: I've tried a variety of cycle and spin classes over the years in different studios here in Charlotte and also in NYC where I occasionally travel for work. Flywheel bikes are my favorite, as the torque is easily adjusted and I can see an actual number. Some bikes are just "up and down" and you have no frame of reference when the instructors tells you to adjust. At Flywheel, instructors are good about giving you a range in which to work, which I like. Displays also give me RPM and current and total "power scores" which give me a visual representation of how hard I'm working. I can also participate in the live "torqboard" to compare against others in the class. In the Charlotte studio, most people opt-out, but there are always a few people you can compete against. Also, the bikes are easily adjustable and always in great condition.
-Location: 10 minutes from my house, easy to find, ample parking (though it fills up around lunch time due to the proximity of restaurants in the shopping center).
-Facilities: Lobby area is clean with places to sit and put your shoes on. Free lockers to keep your stuff safe. Clean towels, a place to fill your water bottles, free mints & ear plugs, as well as hair ties, bobby pins and feminine products. Bathrooms are always clean.
-Free shoes: If you need cycle shoes, they have them available at no extra cost. I have my own and happily the pedals on the bikes allow for mountain bike clips if that's what you have.
-Always a great workout: I go to the 45 minute classes and always leave sweaty and satisfied. I can only recall once that I didn't have a fantastic workout and that was due to the instructor's music selection - it just wasn't my cup of tea and was somewhat anti-motivating.

Cons:
-Music volume: I have professional ear plugs designed for musicians and the music still hurts my ears, especially towards the end when instructors are trying to motivate people to keep going. Seriously guys, I know I have sensitive ears but the music is MISERABLY loud.
-Price: I understand quality instructors, current music and rent at this location are premium, but classes are super expensive. Unlimited classes for a month currently costs $280 and buying 4 classes @ a time (I attend about once per month) is $96 w/auto renew if you do not cancel. If you're looking to buy one class it's $28 and a non-auto renew purchase of 20 classes still costs $25 per class.

Was my first visit to Flywheel. It came highly recommended. I enjoyed the workout and burned some major calories. The staff so friendly and helpful. The instructor Sarah was AMAZING!!

Great workout! Just bring earplugs. The sound system is so loud and with so much distortion you might leave with hearing loss...

I have a love hate relationship with flywheel lol. It's a fun way to work out though, and very motivating. My mom and I are both addicted to it.
