I was a member in the Myrtle Beach location for years, moved to Charlotte almost 2 years ago and started going to the Whitehall location. I love it, the staff is friendly, the location is easy to get to and from, and the facility is always clean. Highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a great gym !

Loved this gym and all it had to offer... until the "gym fail" videos started popping up everywhere BEING SHOT AT PLANET FITNESS BY THE STAFF THROUGH THEIR OWN SECURITY CAMERAS.
These folks are making fun of paying customers, using company security equipment to do it. Even worse, they're not correcting the misuse and abuse of the equipment that they're filming... EVEN WHEN PEOPLE GET HURT IN THE PROCESS.
I understand they can't keep track of all customers and what they're doing on the floor, so they can't stop customers from filming each other (though I think an honest effort in that direction would be helpful). But their own staff is doing it, and they can't claim to be unaware - these videos are everywhere and growing more numerous by the day.
Pardon me, isn't your job to be helping people get fit correctly? Not mocking them for their attempts and letting them hurt themselves and others? Are you really on the clock filming your customers and laughing at their mistakes rather than helping them?
Absolutely disgusting and not something I am going to tolerate. I have completely lost faith in this franchise and will NEVER, ever set foot in one of their gyms again. And I'm going to encourage anyone who sees themselves in one of these "fail videos" shot by the staff - including the ones taken at this very branch - to take appropriate action as well.

Very clean. Lots of workout options. They have just about every sort of cardio equipment you could want. Treadmills, stair climbers, ellipticals, stationary bikes, Etc. There is a 30 minute lifting circuit that they will train you how to use. It is so easy. They have free weights and the regular lifting equipment you would see in every other gym as well. There is someone on hand to train you or help you at any point in time and they have a training schedule. There is also the option of the massage chair and the water massage tables if you have a black card. The black card is super inexpensive and they always have deals going on to sign up. The black card also includes tanning. The staff is very friendly and easy to work with. Overall this is a great gym.

Slightly larger and a little more well appointed than my home town location in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Stunningly clean as well. However one complaint, and this is the third PF I've seen this. Upright cycle machines are timeworn and physically clunky as you pedal. This seems to be a corporate issue now that I've seen it three times at three locations with no response or fixing it. First gen iPod hookups on machines? These have seen a lot of RPM's. Time for a corporate-mandated upgrade of certain cardio machines. I'm seriously thinking about going back to the YMCA (can use when out of town working inmost cities). Can't see a member of PF board working out in the morning on clunky machines. Time to either recondition or upgrade a number of cardio machines.

Gets the job done. Normally crowded between 4-8pm. Very quiet. Everyone respects the others space. Friendly staff. Several on the floor trainer's. The staff appear to build rapport quickly. 24hr facility. 7 days a week. Cheap membership even with a recent price hike. Black Card is the smarter way to go, in my opinion, it allows you to bring a friend or workout partner to keep you motivated. I will admit that the staff can be a bit strict when moving equipment to different area's or if you attempt to bring outside equipment in... I guess it's a liability issue.... Overall, great place to be.

Like many across the nation (yes, I travel often. Thus I use them, and have developed a sense of judgement), it's average.
One in Kanapolis, NC, has such a GREAT atmosphere, though.

Plenty of cardio machines. But, some of machines such as ab crunch is only one. Staff is friendly and helpful if you ask however service can be more efficient.

Folks here already always kind. There are lots of treadmills and ellipticals. Folks sometime "linger" on the individual machines in the 30-minute PF Express workout, so you either have to ask folks to move on or skip a machine. Everything is always clean. There's no childcare if you need that during your workout, but the rates are really good.

Great place. No barbell free weights though. They have lots of machines. Dumbbells up to 50lbs, and 4 smith machines. They also have a lot of cardio equipment. Only seems to get super packed in the evening.

It's cold, but you can't wear a beanie... because of "gangs" .. idk any beanie wearing gangs, and either way that's a stupid rule. Should you outlaw red..blue too. Or at least rattle off all the gangs that specifically wear beanies.

My mother previously passed away, I came in to reinstate my membership during the time period planet fitness offers to wipe my membership away, I was promised this by all of the other planet fitness who were will to do this action for me but my home location told me no. I was descriminated against and lied too wspicwlky during a difficult time in my life. Please do not make this location your home location.

I am out of town on business from Ohio and my hotel gym was horrible so decided to find the closest PF!
I could not believe how helpful the two guys were at the front. They talked to me, asked me about myself and provided me with access to the gym without a hassle.
I'm so happy to know there are still kind people out there and the guys made me feel right at home!
So thank you guys and next time I'm in town I'll be coming back!
Also, the gym was super clean... from the equipment to the tanning beds!
