I have been to the RSC a few times over the years. While I am a member, I do not consider myself a regular. The club is spotlessly clean, that's the first thing I always notice ... the private rooms, the public areas, the dry sauna, the steam room, and the whirlpool are all well maintained.
The staff are friendly and helpful. They take their time with you at check-in and when you check -out. There are about a dozen or so rooms on the first floor and maybe another dozen or so on the second floor.
I've always found the other customers to be friendly and polite. People smile and say hello. The crowd is diverse to say the least- all ages, ethnically diverse (for Albany!) and all physical shapes & body types. It would be impossible to zero in on a specific demographic that would be reliable.
I've always been challenged to figure out when it will be busy and therefore a good time to go. Good weather? Bad weather? Day time? Mid-week? Weekend? Night time? For me there has never been a clear pattern and that therefore becomes part of the fun.
The image on the web site are accurate. The parking is free and well lit and the neighborhood, like anywhere, benefits for you paying attention to your surroundings. I believe this club has been owned by the same people for about 17 years and some of the staff have been there the whole time... that says a lot about the club and its management.
Go. Have an open mind and a good attitude and you'll have fun.
