I've only been a handful of times, but the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. There are many walls with routes of varying difficulty. I'm a very mediocre climber and there are plenty of routes for me to choose from to push my skills.
Owners are super nice, new routes set on a routine basis. Super chill atmosphere. Something for everyone to climb!
Great environment! I have an intermediate skill level and was able to do some fun, easy routes and do climbs that really challenged me.
Been to all the Rochester gyms and this is the best by far. Ropes and boulders are far better than CRG. Red Barn competes well for quality bouldering. I definitely love it there, but ropes are my favorite.
This is THE best climbing gym in Rochester! Great for experienced climbers or beginners, RocVentures has it all! They are constantly adding new and challenging routes and are always excited to talk about climbing. Perhaps the best thing about this place is the atmosphere! The owners and staff at RocVentures are amazing! Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to help. Went for a birthday party. Well done. They teach you how to belay for your guests, or do it for you for a fee if you'd like. The pizza and party gifts are included. Nice venue and very fun for the kids. Ages 8-12 for the party. Plenty of varied difficulty levels and other things to climb besides the rock walls: cargo nets, ropes, even a tire with a bell to ring when you get to the top. Very reasonable price. Even when it was busy, there was still plenty of wall space to explore and use. 90 minutes was plenty for a group of 8 to have fun.
The new owners where very competent in thier skills. And taught me to belay in no time. My friends and I had a great time! I plan on bring the whole family back.

The gym is under new ownership as of Spring 2018, and they've done a lot to update and improve the gym. New holds and volumes, adjusting routes and how they're marked, new flooring, new ropes, expanded bouldering, set lead routes, and added limited fitness equipment (exercise balls, free weights, etc). New routes are all marked with consistent hold colors instead of tape, and the grading system was expanded to denote sub-grades. All of these changes haven't affected the main thing I love about RV - the casual, familiar atmosphere. The staff are wonderfully friendly, and I can always just show up and find someone to climb with. Memberships remain affordable.

I don't climb that often, but I had fun at this place! They normally will make you take a class if it's your first time there, but you can test out of it. The routes kind of jumped in difficulty pretty drastically. One level would feel like a ladder and the next would be pretty tough.

I've been climbing here for 15 years. The new owners are making lots of improvements. Warm friendly atmosphere. New climbing holds and features. Constantly setting new routes. Lead climbing is coming soon :)

Very dated rock climbing facility with the prices of a modern gym. Bouldering is a joke.
Well, I wasn't expecting to be trained there which was pretty fun for the family of us 6 to enjoy some rock climbing. But we passed with flying colors, lots of easy and very hard obstacles. They had a changing room which was nice also had a bathroom. They had lockers and hangers off to the side so you can place your stuff so don't worry about your stuff being stolen. They have water fountains when your thirsty and some other snacks at their register.
Very fun place lots of obstacles for the family, you don't have to be an expert to climb, they have mats for safety, just double check your rope and gear to keep being safe!. Have fun!!!

Great place to get your climb on! Polite and helpful staff.
Not the place to go if you are passing through town. The required belay test is $11/person and it's on a grigri clip in system. The bouldering routes are sparse, awkward, and inconsistent. Maybe we would of had more fun of we just bit the bullet and payed the $55 bucks for the two of us.

Large facility, friendly staff, reasonably priced introductory course package to get you to come back for more. Most people there seem to have a lot of fun. Safety first!
