The staff was very accommodating. I went for the first time today and was a guest and they were very helpful and patient with us. The gym was clean too! Definitely worth considering switching gyms!
The staff is friendly and helpful. There are plenty of machines and equipment. There is plenty of space to move around and do your own thing without being bothered. So why only 4 stars? The place needs a serious cleaning. Bathrooms, locker rooms, free weight areas and shower areas need a good scrubbing. Sure its because people are slobs and should clean up after themselves (re-rack their weights, clean the equipment when they are done, throw away their drink containers and paper towels) but apparently their mother's aren't available so it falls onto the staff. Seriously this place is great. Just clean up after yourself so the staff doesn't have to. They have enough to do.
Have overall been fairly satisfied with the facilities of both East & West Ridge Road locations. About the only dissatisfaction has been the hot tubs at both locations. Both seem to be down more than working properly. The staff at both locations have been excellent. Overall very satisfied for the price and what is offered.
Had a 2 week lapse in other gym membership due to cancellation issues around Medicare . I attempted to see if I could get a 5 day guest pass from L A Fitness, they did one better !! I received a message from them stating they could oblige me with not only a 5 day guest pass but help me out with the two week lapse due to previous gym membership cancellation rules. I'm truly impressed and appreciate them helping me without having to go two weeks with no gym membership. As we all know, these Holiday weeks are the most important weeks to stay active. Thanks again to L A Fitness !!! Now thats customer support !! I Like !
LA fitness on west ridge road has been my go to work out place every time I come home! The staff is always welcoming, encouraging, and understanding. As a previous D1 athlete, the equipment is always satisfying and clean. Five stars from me!
this gym is good I go there mostly to do zumba 3x a week. My instructors are amazing and fun, front desk staff are nice.
Very dirty, some of the machines (stair climbers) even smell from sweat. Has potential but needs a thourough cleaning.
This LA is a mess. Equipment is pretty good. No one at the front desk repeatedly. Unhelpful, uninformed front desk staff when they were present. Fire alarm going off nearly a dozen times with no one knowing what to do about it. Smoothie bar open for only a few hours at a time (including closing at 3 pm on Sunday with no hours posted), and a vending machine with highly overpriced drinks that only accepts coins and $1 bills. At 4 pm, I couldn't get any protein ANYWHERE in the gym (partly because I didn't have five $1 bills for a basic MuscleMilk bottled protein drink). Really ridiculous. Very poor.

Great pool sauna and hot tub. I ride the bike and use the pool. The Greece location showers have been dysfunctional for the last 6 months. Within 30 seconds the water is SCALDING HOT. I've told management many times and they say the plumbers have been working on it. Last there June 25 ? I had to change shower stalls 3 times to get rinsed. HOT HOT HOT

Love this gym. I've been a member here since the first opened in Rochester in Irondeqouit. Your membership gets you into any of the locations throughout Rochester. The gym has a pool, hot tub, dry sauna, racket ball courts, lots of machines, cardio equipment, free weights...the standard gym stuff.
Tons of classes go on throughout the week as well as personal trainers for those that need some help/guidance. Love the layout of most of them (except webster), and really enjoy the smoothie bar.

Like any gym, if you go between the hours or 4 p.m.-6 p.m., you will deal with a mad house. This place is pretty good otherwise. They don't allow chalk like many gyms, which is why I only gave 4 stars.

I was a member twice. Friendly staff. Tons of machines. Updated and clean. An array of classes; my favorite being kickbox cardio. Hard to find parking at busy times.

First off I pay $35 a month which is insane compare to the industry average. Second off the basketball court is just useless because I have gone at many different seasons, times, days. I still have not found a day where there is a free time for the gym to just make some jump shots and shoot around for fun, wasnt that the point of the courts? I just don't see why they don't manage that. There seems to be a game after game game going on every second and never can get a chance to even step foot. Even in the summer which is sad because people won't go outside to play a pick up game. Lastly alot of the equipment are broken and have been for a while. According to the director they had to wait for a contract to expire in order to replace the broken ones. I just don't seen the vaule of paying $35 a month for a simple clean gym

We only use pool. Clean..a good temperature. Lockers need a thorough wipe down...bottoms are dirty from wet shoes and boots.

Love LA as I travel and they are all over the place but the Greece location seems to be dirty and way too many members for the size of the club.

I have been going there consistently for about a month. I find that the club has everything I need to actually train my body in the ways it needs.
Pool, sauna, spa and ball court included in my package. They also have multiple squat racks, smith machines, tons of floor space and cardio equipment.
The place does stay pretty full with people but honestly I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes for a squat rack. Staff is polite and stay out of your way for the most part.
Greece gym is very clean, machines are maintained. Staff is always attentive and helpful. Most of the complaints about cleanness were from men, but women's locker area is always clean (at the Greece location.) I was told that every time I notice a problem, to kindly mention it at the front desk so it can be taken care of. And it is. LOVE this gym. Always enough machines, no matter how many people are there!
LA Fitness used to be best gym in town.
It's been moving in the wrong direction for months.
Mold in the showers.
Trim & base molding coming off the walls.
Machines broken for more then a month.
Signs posted stating the gym is concerned about members breaking equipment vs. LA fixing the machines and properly educating members on home to use them.
Wood in the sauna turned black from never being cleaned.
Gum on the floor in the locker room that hasn't been removed for weeks.
Equipment is never wiped down.
Floors are rarely moped, vacuumed or wiped down.
LA please speak to your members and start making improvements or you're going to start losing members quickly.
Worst gym ever I know 3 ppl and thay cancelled their membership the staff so so unprofessional thay fight with customers and so rude especially the " trainers" and there is no manager to control The gym.
