Before joining Blink I used to be a member at Planet Fitness in Castle Hill. Compared to Planet Fitness, Blink is very small and overcrowded. And it doesn't help that the workout area is in the basement.
Having a small workout area isn't a bad thing because your workout experience is more intimate. And the reception area is literally right next to the workout area so you will always find a staff member to help you out. Of course, bumping into other patrons in a crowded gym isn't fun though :(
As for the workout atmosphere, the gym members are mostly very fit people. So it's easy to experience gym intimidation. The guys are muscle heads, so you will see lots of guys hogging the free weights and the weight machines. Since I'm a newbie to lifting, I utilize the lighter weights which are usually available (even the 10 lb weights get hogged).
Ever so often, you might see someone sitting at a machine, not working out--only texting or taking selfies.
The lockerroom is clean--at least in my opinion, since I'm a male, I can only speak for the men's lockerroom.
Overall, I'd say Blink has a friendly atmosphere. The staff acknowledge you as you come and go. But the biggest cons are overcrowding and availability of weights. The membership is cheap and it's a good deal for someone looking to workout without all the amenities.
