I have been signed up to Planet Fitness for about a month and a half now, and I would say it's been a pretty decent experience. I would of gave this location a higher rating, but as I will proceed to explain, the most I can give it is a 3 star review.

The staff is very kind and helpful, and during my initial sign up I was provided a tour of the location which was helpful. I enjoy using the various kinds of workout devices, and in regards to diversity among machinery Planet Fitness has been spectacular.

Now on to the reason why the review is only 3 stars, the biggest issue for me is the cleanliness. The bathroom/shower area is absolutely horrendous most of the time, and that's not to say the staff don't clean, they absolutely do. The problem is the physical layout and where everything is placed, and the lack of certain things.

To begin, the toilet stalls are absolutely disgusting and I would never consider using them even if I had to desperately use the bathroom; I'd run to McDonald's or somewhere else. There's toilet paper left all over the insides by disgusting people, and the reason for this is that the stalls have very wipe gaps where people can clearly see inside. People use toiler paper as a means of covering these gaps for more privacy, resulting in there being toilet paper all over the inside of these stalls most of the time.
The sinks, provided that the edges of these sinks don't tilt inward, there's water all over the sinks and floors 99% of the time, due to people needing to raise their hands out of the sink area, walking over to the ONE hand drying device and further wetting the floor. Someone in a rush or not paying attention can be seriously injured if this doesn't get resolved at some point. It's also very unappealing to want to wash your hands in an area that's always damp and wet.

The showers biggest issue is the immense lack of privacy. The only way to get yourself in the shower without others seeing you naked is to enter the shower with your clothes on and undressing behind the curtain. When you finish, you need to redress behind the curtain as well with the wet floor underneath you, unless you don't mind being watched by everyone using the bathroom, washing their hands or walking in/out of the locker room area.

Whoever is in change or remodeling, you need to seriously consider putting a ticket in to dividing these areas. Nobody sitting on the toilet should feel like half the locker room can see them, Nobody washing their hands should be able to peak at you while using the urinals, and nobody taking a shower should feel like half the locker room is watching them because there are no barriers/walls or anything separating these areas.

One final note about the showers, it's very obvious that you are filling the soap dispensers with HAND SOAP, and it's very negligible for people whom care about their skin. Please order something different, and include a hair washing soap or combination. People should not have to wash their hair with body soap, it dries the scalp and is not good for appearance or healthy hair. Conditioner does not need to be an option. Also somewhere to put your locker keys while you shower would be nice, as I have to sit mine on the floor of the shower while I'm in there since there is no slab or anything anywhere.

The locker room area's one weakness is it's small size for such a large volume of clients, and the fact that there are only 2 medium sized benches. Whoever decided this was a good idea needs to re-evaluate their life decisions.

Finally, there's an influx of mosquitos. In the shower, in the workout area, in the locker rooms, nothing but mosquitos all over the gym! I am personally someone who has the favored blood type of these little monsters and I'm a ball of gravity for them. Having someone come in regularly during mosquito season would be amazing, as I don't want to leave the gym with 3-4 bites everyday because I chose to work out for a few hours.

To summarize my review, you've got a good place going here, but you've got a lot of quality of life changes to make.

People mess up weight too much , and it always out of place. Besides that great gym , friendly people that workout and are willing to teach you how to properly do a workout.

Gym is always clean which is a plus. Though machines take a long time to get fixed and people just want to hog everyday like they own the place.

I went away on a month vacation abroad. Upon my return, I was charged late fees, and some other fees. Before my vacation, I requested a card change from credit card to debit card because I had lost my credit card and replaced it. I asked to speak for the manager, all i got was "he isn't here". I am a full time student and work full time and sometimes redirected my route to the gym to personally speak with the manager. This time, the excuse was "there's a new manager" and that she wasn't around. The next three times i went "their system was down" I still devoted and squeezed time to stop by the gym to get these senseless overdraft resolved since they originally refused to change my card to a functioning card. Instead, they kept overcharging overdrafts on top of overdrafts when they clearly knew it wasn't a functioning card and I was not going to pay until they resolved this issue. Once they purposefully charged my fees up to $400, they were finally willing to change my card to a working card. The Manager began writing down my card information without telling me the steps she will be taking, whether she will reduce it. I had to ask her if she was going to waive it , and then tells me, she can only waive one overdraft.....for their mistake! I told her to give me my card back and left, ...the disrespect, guess that's how they make their money.

Sweaty dudes hogging two different machines? check. scantily clad teenage girls using equipment incorrectly? check. people talking on phones loudly? of course. couples chatting on the machines and not using them? yeah. staff flirting with girls? yup. 5 kids using one machine taking turns? yup. dumbbells missing? yup. try hards dropping weights and not wearing shirts? check

my advice is to go late at night. after like 11pm theres 5 people max downstairs. all of them focused and actually working out. the atmosphere is quiet and wonderfully chill. no stupid couples, no scantily clad teens. everyone is to themselves.

the bads outweigh the goods.....but only from 2pm to like 10pm.....after that....the place is yours...enjoy it.

One would expect it to be always packed, but it's never the case. At least not for the past 5 months since I have joined. I terminated my contract with NYSC and joined Planet Fitness because it was closer to my job. I have no regrets. None.

I'm sure it must happen some times but I've been to this gym at various times during the day and I've never had a crowd problem.

Never had to wait to utilize equipment, as I've experienced at other Planet Fitness locations, or wait for bathroom/lockers, or for attendant and never had to wait.

3 things I love about Planet Fitness:

- the price is right
- the attendants are pleasant yet firm, no nonsense
- I know I'm being judged - humans. But I don;t feel judged - Planet Fitness

I'll throw in a 4th in case one of the above gets disqualified or nullified or something. There's always a Planet Fitness nearby to work or home, just around the bend.

Love this gym.always pack in late evenings around 5-7pm but always empty at night time. i love working out at night time. its planet fitness you get what you get for. the gym is nice and clear.bright lights. i love the new stair climber machine. i highly recommend this gym . i mean for $10 a month,you cant complain right>>>>>>>>>>>>....................

This planet fitness is awesome, everytime I enter here it smells good and also clean. The best time to attend is in the early am. I just rejoined after canceling early may and to my surprise they added three steppers. Way to go to whoever authorized it. Overall, great gym when its empty.

Spacious PF location. The members could use some etiquette as many women video chat while in the locker room. But the locker room is always clean which is great. The staff is friendly and the machines are ample. Sure cleanliness is an issue and not everyone cleans machines after they use them so you should wipe before use just in case!
