I've learned so much at this yoga place in the East Village, and now I'm so happy they moved to my homeland in Queens! It's a very meditative environment, the perfect place to get out of the rush of the city. Every time I go, I come out so refreshed and balanced, it's perfect after a long work day, and luckily they have classes every day! The yoga classes are different than any other you'll find in NYC, far deeper and very focused on awareness. I've been taking yoga for a while, but I've brought some friends there who are beginners, and I think these classes are great for everybody. I love this yoga community, if you're interested in learning about yoga, or even just feeling peaceful, I highly recommend it.
This small but very warm and sweet community yoga studio has just opened up a few days ago in Astoria. It's operated by the same people who were running the east village Vishwa Dharma Mandalam yoga school. There is a really good atmosphere here, similar to the one in the lower east side, and the classes are as usual, very meditative and overall spiritual. The studio has a small alter which always makes me feel great when I practice near one. I wish the yoga room was a bit bigger but other than that I enjoyed it very much.
