Staff is friendly and is great to feel comfortable while working out. Temperature of the gym is great. I have been going there consistently for a few years and feels like a family environment.
Just joined the other day and in love with this place. The gym is very clean and well organized. The staff here are fantastic and very helpful too. And the membership fee isn't that bad all
Very disappointed, stopped 24 he service. Now I have to look for another 24 he gym.
Nice gym! Very clean. Lots of machines & equipment. Friendly staff.
I am a member of retro fitness in long island but use this one because its close to work. I really wish this was my home club. If for your looking for a good gym for weight training/ old school training ( the things that actually work) or just looking for a good quick workout this beats most of the local gyms in my opinion ( I've tried all of them). Only thing I wish is if they had parking, but hey that's Astoria for you
24 hour gym5/5. free weights are great but machines. are. little old3.7/5..
It's a great gym has what I'm looking for which is free weights and a lot of room to stretch but the only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star is because of parking, they used to have parking available 24 hours but not anymore it's disappointing because I get out of work late and there is no parking available. Wish you guys can work something out with Best Buy.
So you want humor, huh? Well, here's a funny joke: there are people out there who eat chicken and lift heavy objects everyday in hopes somebody loves them.

Old school feel...... Great gym to go heavy

Out of all the Retro Gyms in queens, this one is the most rundown. But it's best feature is that it's 24 hours on weekedays.

This is one of the more run down retro gyms I've been too. The plus side it's 24 hours on weekdays.
this place is cheap thats because more than half of their exercise and cardio machines are broken.
Can get full at times but most machines are available. The only things you have to wait around for are the weights since many guys tend to work with them for periods of time but if they see you waiting they will speed up and let you work with them. For the most part everybody is friendly.
Very nice gym and great staff. What I like about this gym sometimes they get a real dj to play music in the gym which is very creative. The are only a few drawbacks. This gym is kind of small it tends to get too packed at peak hours. They have a heavy bag for boxing but no speed bags.

This is the gym i use, a good gym with all kinds of equipment from light to heavy. The air and environment is clean
Great gym there is a theatre with bikes there are many free classes included like zumba and spin classes.
Slightly crowded at times, but plenty if equipment, very spacious, friendly staff, Good Music Like Type O Negative & AC/DC on their own music channel. And of course, lots of fine looking Women around
Staff are not friendly at all. They would see you everyday and not even smile. Also locker room is filthy. Machines are dirty, outdated and most of them dont work or broke and never fixed. The one in Queens Blvd is way better and cleaner than this one. I'm surprised they get away with this quality in Astoria. It feels like this gym is in the ghetto.
The staff that work there are too i to themselves and they don't act like they work there. They have no clue how to run a successful business. Watch this place won't make it another year. I give it less than a year before it shuts down i hope it does so they can have something cleaner there. C'mon this is Astoria not the ghetto
Good affordable gym, close to the MR train. A bit of a juicehead atmosphere with lots of selfies. Cardio theater room is great, but wish they would put up a movie schedule, that would be great!
Overall, it's the best bang for my buck when it comes to location and equipment. I would've given 5 stars if they repaired equipment in a timely fashion. Three Olympic bars are bent and yet they still keep it. The dipping station has been repaired by inserting a screw so only the triceps motion is available. The bench for bench pressing is set crooked, before lifting off the bar will remain crooked. It's annoying when things this obvious are not fixed.
So far so good! This isn't my regular gym but I try to come once a week during the weekend. For 4 bucks an hour at the walk in rate i'm giving 5 stars.
I posted a review a few months ago in regard to customer service and how disappointing it was to received such bad service from some of the staff at the front desk. Since then, I have noticed a positive change which makes it more refreshing to walk into the gym to workout. Customer Service is a vital part of the business because, people come to the gym to workout and need that positive attitude from the person who is greeting them. That will make a workout more productive.
I called over the phone at 12:16 p.m. today Monday October 16th the guy on the phone was very rude I recorded the whole conversation on my phone he hung up on me I kept calling over and over again to ask about pricing and he wouldn't pick up the phone this was at the front desk now I will go in person and speak to the manager I will do everything in my power to get that nasty person fired
Hours are perfect. You get what you pay for with the resources they have. Staff are friendly and helpful. My only concern is that some of the equipment are kind of beat up and people don't put back weights where at times I can't find the equipment I need.
