This is the 2nd time within a month I rode my bike to planet fitness on Remsen and waited out in the cold after 12 midnight for it to open, Ive been standing here since 1145 and it's now 1215 and nobody has arrived to open place yet. 02/10/2020 this is unacceptable. I will go back home now but this is wrong. Anthony or Betty should have gotten up and came in.

Great convenience but the music is too loud. I bring my own lol. Staff is helpful when needed, machines help and I like coming here.

Plenty of work out equipment and both patrons and workers make it comfortable to be there.

I love going here in the way hours of the morning around 1am 2am.... Less ppl and I get more access to the machines and weights

I love going to planet at 2am. It's empty and I get a great workout and the locker rooms are cleaned around that time so it's all good!

It seems to be extremely difficult to cancel your membership. I called a few months back inquiring about cancelling and was told to come in or send a letter. Not able to come in, i wrote a letter (which was later returned to me). Before i got the return letter i called to check in to see if they had received my letter. I was told no and was ask to send a email of my post office receipt... i told the young lady i didn't have it on hand and would call back if i did. Few days later i received the return letter and made another call... was asked to say the address on the envelope (confirmed to be correct), was told sorry, the manager didn't check the mail box and that's why it was returned and asked to resend the letter again and call when i do so they can be on a look out for it. I asked for managers (whom seems to never be in), i continuously call and explain i'm not re-sending a letter and we need to figure out how we can cancel this ongoing membership that's not being used. No help at all, giving none working numbers to call the general manager, being hung up on (claiming to have been discounted) and being on the phone with different associates who are rude. It's annoying.

The best part is the parking lot, that aside, the location is conveniently located via bus. The gym is small, but has most of the items for a decent work out. The free weights is small but there is enough ellipticals, bikes & threadmills to keep you happy. The lockers are unsecured and needs changing due to damages. The floors and showers have undergone renovations, but the members don't seem to appreciate it. The staff is another matter. Depending on the time of day, you may get greeted, but I didn't bother learning names. The equipment needs cleaning and there's a lack of general maintenance, in terms of dust & lubricants. All I can say, is gauge your expectations.

Some of the staff are a little rude, sometimes the machines are broken.

Editing my post. Management have to train staff. I understand that customers can turn off workers at time but some of these workers are always rude and disgruntled.

This gym is close to my house so it's conventient but it's becoming such a turn off that I'm thinking about switching and going to Queens.

The gym is good and or depends on what you need to achieve. There are no judgement at this Planet fitness.. I love it go to workout and benefit from it .. I do. If a staff is unfriendly I will let the manager know and it so far my feedback is helpful. If someone is I the equipment too long I will ask he or she to share. He broken equipment the leg curl have been fix.

I value my time and my workout.

Good range of equipment which is well maintained.

Customer service needs to be improved.

Changing room need to be cleaned more often.

The staff is rarely receptive (particularly if a guest is not their close personal friend), quite a few of the men who work out there are incredibly creepy, and rude. Weights are CONSTANTLY left scattered about the building unattended, simply waiting to cause an accident. There is no circuit room, and little to no space for adequate stretching or calisthenics. It's really one giantbuilding overstuffed with machinery (that is often out of order), with few up to date free weights, dirty deteriorating mats, and a bathroom that is more repulsive than those found at Port Authority. The only plus side to this location is its proximity to other establishments I frequent.

My gym for over 2 years now and the sad fact is you literally outgrow this place. Parking lots a big plus but you can never find anyone in charge or speak to corporate...I've gone to PF with a lot to choose from but this one has 60lb dumbells lol..

I once thought that this Planet Fitness was amazing until I visited other branches, it was then that I realized that this location is deplorable. There is alot of equipment that other Planet Fitness branches have that this one not have. The weight machines are really out dated, the place overall is just too small in comparison to other Planet Finesses.

One of the people behind the desk said I had seven days before I had cancel. I've Been here for only three days and I wanted to cancel and then the same guy tells me that he's never said that. Now he's telling me that I have to pay 58 dollars to cancel when I've only been at the gym for 3 days? Insane....

Planet Fitness has advantageously altered the general health of the community, within a six block radius of the 856 Remsen Avenue location, with a well furnished fitness centre.
For decades, due to the ethnic change in the demographic composition of Canarsie, Brooklyn, the residents of Canarsie were not offered a fitness centre to exercise within.
However, due to the construction of this most contemporary fitness centre, residents of Canarsie have an expansive location to exercise.
The Planet Fitness on 856 Ramsen Avenue is so well equipped with treadmills, stair climbing machines, stationary bicycles and elliptical machines. The cavernous duplex design affords all members the pleasure of exercising without the discomfort of being too close to other members.
As cavernous as the facility is, the air conditioning on both floors is always perfect. More importantly, the air intake and the air exchange system is quite adequate and the odor neutralizing filtration system is always in perfect working order; the facility always smells freshly cleaned.
The lavatory and water closets are always clean, odor free and in ideal working condition. However, members of the facility often discard tissue paper directly onto the floor, quite upsetting.
A particular gripe of mine is the lack of free weight plates available to the members who exercise exclusively with free weights for bench pressing; the purchase of at least one free weight plate rack is desperately needed in the space designated for the aforementioned. As correlated to dumbbells, the facility is well stocked.
An additional gripe, employees and members of the facility are permitted to remove the free weight plates from the designated free weights area to the upper level, but the plates are never returned; most vexing indeed.
One of the paramount attribute the 856 Remsen Avenue location possess is the vast car park afforded to all members at absolutely no cost! Also, the hours operation are so convenient for traveling executives who rely so heavily on Kennedy International Airport.
I strongly recommend this distinctive location for its friendly atmosphere, duplex design, large lift, new equipment, well air conditioned air and, yes, it is truly a judgment free zone; everyone is made to feel welcomed.
