All I can say is that I'm quite pleased. It is very accomodable. The elevator takes you up to the 4th floor. Upon entering, you are greeting with the names of the couple and tag names for the tables. The reception hall is really huge.
Theres a bar area as well as a dance floor so large that I felt like dancing instantly.
The bathroom is big enough and anyone can use. Yes, children can come to the place. Go ahead plan your event.
This review is based on a kids' party I attended at this gym. I had the pleasure of visiting Astoria Sports Complex last weekend for the birthday party of a classmate/friend of my nephew's. I've been to quite a few children's' birthday parties (lots of nieces, nephews, and little cousins ), and this place is among the best facilities I've ever been in. From the time we arrived to when we left, the staff was so courteous and professional, you'd think they went to college only to learn how to host children's' parties.
The "Complex" has everything - gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, aerobics classes, and personal training. They even had goofy, yet fun looking games for the kids; one was called "Be the Ball", where the kids put on these giant plastic, inflatable bubbles and run into each other and knock each other over. The kids also got to play this game called "Nerf Wars", where they basically run around shooting each other with Nerf guns. The kids seemed to really love the games. Other than that, the kids got to play soccer and dodgeball and got to jump around in bouncy houses (I have no idea what they're actually called, you know what I'm talking about).
Oh, and the food! The quality of the food was another surprise; the chicken parm and the fries were way better than I expected. Since my experience with this business is directly tied to a birthday party I attended, I did not wander around and check the place out in too much detail, but I know that they offer swimming lessons, soccer classes...and they have two indoor soccer fields.
If you live in/close to Astoria and you're looking to get in shape, I highly recommend you check Astoria Sports Complex. The entire facility is pristine, the staff is super-friendly and knowledgeable about all things fitness, and there are tons of things to do here.
Love this place! They open up very early and they close late. EVEN WEEKENDS
I was a members at power house but they closed at 3pm. TheComplex stays open until 8pm on weekends and the staff is so cool. I heard they are opening up a juice bar here soon
It was a last minute decision to come here my daughter turning 7 years old and her party was suppose to be outside and the weather said thunderstorm. I wasn't expecting much so i come here to see what they have for the weekend. I had quickly read a few yelp reviews figured what the heck let's try it!
I'm glad we did! I had very few expectations so I/we were pleasantly surprised! Right off the bat I noticed the young people that work here are so nice & helpful. They seem to enjoy their jobs. The place is large & the price is right. There are several different areas Basketball area, obstacle course, large area with bounce from one to the other, something similar to a ball Pool where the kids trampoline into a huge pool and jacuzzi. There's also a big eating area .
All in all.. it was a wonderful experience & one that will tire your kid out. It's nonstop fun & was a perfect choice for a rainy summertime party
This review is long over due, first I love that my gym is around the corner from me. I also love that it is clean, awesome equipment, clean pool, and it includes classes with membership! I definitely recommend! Also everyone is so nice from staff to management!

just signed up my child for swim lessons. had a great experience with Carlos, he helped me with a time, espicaily that my child has special needs. i was recommended by a few of my friends and i cant wait to start my kid.

Have tried pretty much every gym available in the metro area, from LA fitness to 24hr fitness down to the cheapest gym I could find. But no gym has the professionalism, courtesy and cleanliness like Complex. From the minute you walk in down to the second you walk out the door after your workout you feel right at home. It is definitely worth every single dollar that they charge for membership. Classes for anything you can think of, swimming pool, soccer field for the fans of the sport, personal trainers ready to help you in any way shape or form. Amazing Amazing Amazing facility..

I was doubtful about this place due to the bad reviews. However, when I went to check the place out I was amazed by how great it is and am glad I joined. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the area is clean, prices are reasonable, and classes are enjoyable.
Great gym! As a pro bodybuilder it's really nice to see all the machines they have. The equipment is all in good condition pretty much and a lot of the stuff is even new. The have everything, and more, that you need to get a good workout with any muscle group. Wish I lived closer or this would be my main gym.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
I'm actually writing this review while waiting for a manger to come talk to me. The girl at the desk said that they can't speak to me now and that I need to wait 30 minutes until the manager is out of a "meeting" it's 7:37pm right now and I'm already missing the class that's I rushed over here for. I'm a yearly member and apparently my membership just expired. Was I notified about this?!?! NO. Did they tell me on my last visit the other day that my membership is expiring soon?!?! NO! I literally rushed over here to make a workout class and got here just before 7:30pm and they wouldn't let me enter. I told her I don't have anything with me as a form of payment and that I would come in Thursday (2 days from now) before my spin class to renew and bring my wallet with me. I'm not asking for anything free, charge me whatever you need to when I come Thursday but she wouldn't let me workout today without renewing it right now. Are you kidding me, by the time I go home and come back I will miss the entire class. As a loyal client of theirs who has brought in 3 new yearly members and countless friends that have purchased days passes to workout with me she could have let me in for the class as a one time curtesy especially because they didn't event notify me that it was expired. They have the absolute WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE TO LOYAL CUSTOMERS WHO BRING THEM BUSINESS, IT'S DISGUSTING!!! They just lost 3 customers because I already called the person I signed up with originally and he won't be renewing. My other friend that was going to sign up with me once my membership expired but, since I'm not renewing now she isn't signing up. Do they honestly think there are no other gyms in Astoria?
Next time let your clients know when their membership is expiring before they show up to workout and get turned down. What a waste of time and it's raining outside so that makes it even worse!!!
Extremely bad place.. They make u spent money.. whatever u go with its still not enough.. they want u to buy their shorts & hair cap... and still would not cooperate.. Very disappointed.. would not recommend at all...
I like the gym and pool but the locker rooms are dirty. Floors need to be professionally cleaned. The lockers are all stained and filthy, look like they have never been washed down. I work nearby in a large facility and everyone comments about this same poor condition. If they would clean up the locker rooms they would get more "commuters" to sign up for the gym.
I went to register swim class for my 4 year old son at 10 am today. As per the information email the registration opens at 10 am and you cannot register prior to that time and date. There was long line for about 15 people and after waiting for 1.5 hour they told me that the registration is full. The office staff/manager have no courtesy to let people know that the registration is full and when you call them they do not pick up the phone. There were women with 1 year old kids and families waiting for simple registration. The management cannot handle a simple registration process with some respect.
I went a month ago in the hopes to join the gym with my friend. The staff member at the reception had no interest to talk to me and she made me feel like I was wasting her time. I asked her if I could have a walk around in the gym to see how it looks like and she said we would have to pay for that. What gym makes you pay to have a look around before you join the gym. I think the place will do much better with better staff members.

Just had my sons 7th birthday party here. Kareem and Eric were such a great host, interacted with the kids the entire time. Paulette is Very organized, she texted me very promptly. Very easy to deal with. We'll be back again. Thanks guys! You rock
This gym is really bad. The ladies changing room is super small and has only one shower with a messed up shower curtain. The machines are ok, but deff not the best. Customer service should improve, they never let you you know if machines are out of service. Today i walked in and wasted my time because no one sent an email to notify me that none of the treadmills will be avaiable for use.

This place advertises Batting Cages, after apparently already tearing them down, and will still allow you to try to book a Birthday Party for these Batting Cages but won't answer the phone when you do. It seems their Webmaster is behind the ball, or they are just interested in ruining Children's Bithdays. Thanks for nothing you garbage establishment. I hope your mediocre after the Movies/Pizarria Uno crowd keeps you guys in buisness. Sorry to your employees. You guys deserve better.
Money VS quality. I support local things and not 24 planet fitnesses big corporations and terrible staff. This gym has been open for over 40 years! Good installations. Very worth the money (they always have some deals going on) Not too crowded. early morning or late nights are the best to enjoy... the only issue is that the pool is under construction. But hopefully it will be renovated soon enough.
