Training one-on-one with Rachel is like working out with Yoda in tights. It's not an easy ride, and she has no interest in smoothing over difficult truths. You'll probably be very sore in whatever your weakest muscle groups are for the first few months, but it will get better.
It takes patience and doesn't feel like much work (until it does), but is worth sticking with: I only started feeling a real difference after the first year or so. Now, my body is a very different shape than it was six years ago. A++ would sign up again.
One on one Pilates sessions with Rachel are such a gift. She has really been able to focus on my individual body issues and has carefully designed a program to help me work on them. She is always very clear with her explanations and helps me stay motivated, even when I get frustrated by the challenge of new exercises. Her studio is small, but lovely, a peaceful place to de-stress at the end of my day. Compared to the crowded mat classes I used to take at the gym, these private sessions on the equipment have given me much more noticeable results in a shorter amount of time -- it costs a bit more, of course, but it is so worth it!
I've appreciated every session with Rachel, who is extremely perceptive and comes prepared with a personalized program for me that is never routine. She has patiently guided me toward a noticeable progression while offering a deep level of anatomical knowledge. Rachel is fantastic - you won't be disappointed!
Training with Rachel is amazing. She is very attentive to each student's specific issues. And after each class she follows up with an email suggesting exercises you can do at home. Her space is very clean and well taken care of, and she has a great library as well where you are free to borrow books about pilates and posture. She is easy to talk to and clearly knows a ton. It has totally changed my awareness - the way I sit on the subway, or my desk, and the position I sleep. I highly recommend her to all my friends.
