This place is amazing. Warm and friendly staff and a variety of dance classes taught by professionals who are down-to-earth. Cumbe is all about community and inclusion. The best of the best in NYC!

I've been interested in taking a class at Cumbe for months now and finally did it. I am a very beginner dancer and was encouraged my the other students as well as the instructor to keep at it. I will definitely be signing up for another class again soon!

The studio was very clean, and the floors were so beautiful! The front desk staff member was friendly and attentive. The instructor (Yaminah - Dancehall class) was amazing! I absolutely love her energy! The adult class schedule is very convenient, with a nice variety of classes. The price is PERFECT! Very affordable, compared to others in the area for a 1.5 hour class!

Just had a capoeira class here for my 2 year old and it was amazing! The teacher Verde did a great job with making sure he pays attention, has fun and enjoys himself. He also gave me tips for repeating the same moves at home. I enjoyed this class and will definitely be coming back.

Love the classes especially Tony's. He is patient and explains every step. Facilities were not up to par however I do understand center is under construction. Looking forward to the new look of Center.

The online registration was simple with multiple options for various class dates etc. I felt like the rhythm of the drums added a lot to the class. The movements were progressive and inclusive making for a wonderful class and a very welcoming group atmosphere.

The drum for the day was truly an awesome experience. The Batala members are patient and their exuberance for what they do is contagious. The fact that y'all actually let everyone drum for the day and try multiple drums and feed off the positive energy is inspiring. I can't wait to go back and hopefully join this amazing group of people.
