I was made very welcome as a guest from London. I attended 5 days in a row. This is a lovely yoga community with great energy. The prices are very good too.

Best studio ever!

I started Bikram Yoga in a different state before moving to NYC. Been practicing ay Bikram Yoga Harlem for about year and a half now. The vibe is great, the instructors are amazing!

Also, I love the diversity here:)

I've been going to my beloved BYH for 7 years. I started my Bikram practice here and have practiced internationally comfortably because of my BYH lessons. Bikram and Beats is a great monthly offering as well as the regular holiday celebrations (i.e. NYE class at 1030pm where you can ring in the new year sweaty, Halloween costume class, etc.). Kudos to Eric and team for maintaining an amazing space.

The feeling of coming home and arriving at this studio are synonymous. Very lax friendly community vibe and with instructors who take you to the edge of challenge and the edge of relief. No other place like it, after many years of practicing, this is the only place I have found myself again and again and again. It holds a very special in my heart.

I've been doing Bikram Yoga for five years, and the welcoming atmosphere, friendly and funny teachers, and true community feeling make this my favorite place I've ever practiced -- a true yoga home! The studio may not be new or fancy, but I know from first-hand experience that a small army of work-studies keeps the studio clean every day. The no-frills facility also allows the owner to keep classes affordable, especially compared to many other studios around the city. There are even pay-what-you-can classes twice a week as BYH makes every effort to make yoga accessible for everyone.

I completely agree with a previous post on here about the health concerns. The staff, instructors, and people are so kind and the class is challenging and positive, but I cannot in all goodness rate this place above 1 star after using those facilities. I went once and upon entering the greeting smell was so pungent that I also almost turned around and walked right back out. As for their studio, I was horrified to see a carpet on the floor in their yoga room. During shavasana I was just concentrating on trying to not smell the carpet beneath me. I was wary of walking around barefoot. The heat in a bikram class is enough to endure but add the smell of an old sweaty carpet and mold and it's a recipe for feeling nauseous.

I paid for an entire introductory week but I will not be back for another class. I wish I could give this place a 5/5 because the instructor and people were so kind and passionate. I hope the studio gets the funds to update their facilities.

This is the most wonderful community of yogis that I have ever had the privilege of practicing with. They have become my family. The studio is the least expensive in the city, and the offer so many perks and packages. The owner is amazing, and the teachers are all sensitive and helpful. I love this place!

If I could possibly rate this establishment any lower than the one star, I would. I have never been here, nor do I ever plan to go here, and yet in some small way my day was affected by the teachings of one Erik Cummings. Who, in his infinite wisdom, treated my girlfriend like absolute trash when she attended a bikram class nearly six years ago. Imagine this: a fifteen year old girl attends a bikram yoga class in new york city, having very few expectations for what is in store. Given her history of dancing, beginner's yoga, and an innate knowledge of the body, she took a majority of Erik Cummings' instructions very seriously, and in an earnest way attempted to complete them as best as possible, to get the most out of this experience. By doing so, Erik Cummings began to pick on her, singling her out in front of the class for "showing off" and eventually encouraging the entire class, as a whole, to laugh at her. Erik had opened the door in the middle of the class and, after looking to see what caused the change in temperature, he again lambasted my girlfriend to a chorus of laughter. I do not write this for attention, I write this to warn anyone interested in this sick establishment that over a casual lunch today I had to hear that the person I love was treated so poorly and singled out so maliciously AT A YOGA CLASS that, to this day, she will not attend a class and wonders still if she should have reported the actions of Erik Cummings. I'm probably not allowed to curse, so I won't, but congratulations Mr. Cummings: your arrogant, spiteful, and disgusting treatment of a fifteen year old girl has stuck with her to this day - you are a despicable, hate filled man, and I warn any and everyone interested in attending this establishment to seriously consider what I have written. I have no stake in this: I was simply appalled by this sort of treatment and cannot believe some pathetic adult (apparently owner) made a teenage girl the laughing stock of his yoga class. I'm done now, and I really wish I could curse, but you're a real scumbag dude, and I hope you've changed. You purposefully and systematically embarrassed a 15 year old girl you had never met in front of a room full of people. You're a real gem, aren't you.

Just to make clear the reason for the 1 star rating. The instructors and classes were excellent, but I have some serious health concerns with the building. Until those are managed there is no way to rate this location above a 1 star.

The first day I walked up the stairs the smell was so pungent and awful that I almost went home right away. However, the people were pleasant, so I tried a week out. The reason for the smell wasn't just your typical yoga sweat, the floor for the Yoga practice was carpeted which was completely disgusting. During floor positions I nearly lost it. Again, the instructors were great, but the experience was hard to manage with the mold and sweat smell.

After 5 sessions I developed a throat infection and have decided not to go back until the carpet situation is fixed. It's a shame because I like the instructors, but I believe it to be completely unsanitary, even if they spray the floors a bit between sessions and have humidifiers. Carpet is a breeding ground for toxic molds and bacteria.

Love love love this place. My favorite Bikram yoga studio in the city. There's a real sense of community here. The staff is always very polite and the instructors are great!
