Just got my membership about a week ago and I'm totally loving the results. Everything is getting right by getting tight. Very happy camper now.

Never had a problem with people breaking into the lockers until I came here. I came back to the locker room after working out and my lock was broke and my bag rummaged. So now they suggest you put you coats and valuables in a locker instead of hanging them on machines for safety. Great, Im all in. Just have an attendant in the locker room at all times.

The best thing I like about this location is that they're open 24 hours a day.
There used to be a Planet Fitness on Lenox Avenue, at West 126 Street. They are now just a fading memory, and that's probably because they were closing at around 8:00 p.m.
This P.F. location on 125 between Adam Powell Blvd and Frederick Douglass is great. The one thing I have not yet found there is a pull up bar.
It's possible that they have it, but I just haven't found it yet.

I'm not a gym brat, but this place is as clean as a truck stop. The man at the front desk was doing a killer job yesterday. He was getting hammered and there wasn't a single employee around to help him and he stayed totally calm under the pressure. I feel like this would be a great place if they were staffed properly. The only plus is they're open 24 hours.

I can only say that I'm happy with all the gyms and I can say that because I've use three of the gyms in the NYC area.

I have enjoyed this location more than Planet Fitness, which I was a member of for years. They have some equipment you won't find at Planet Fitness and the staff is nice as well. They also provide you with a trainer for one free session, on the 25$ package as well.

I would give this location of Planet Fitness zero stars if I could. I am a black card member of planet fitness, I asked the front desk staff member to check me in as I did not have my card on me to scan on 9/14 at 1:00pm. She was so busy flirting with the gentleman in front of me I had to ask twice, she then proceeded to roll her eyes and sigh informing me "You should just download the app so I don't have to do this". I have worked hourly wage jobs in costumer service myself and I have NEVER acted as though the costumer was an annoyance to me. Your staff is blatantly rude and condescending, they take no pride in their work and make the overall environment of this gym very hostile. I thought perhaps the front desk staff member was simply having a bad day so I tried again the next day, I was greeted with the same irritation and eye roll.
Besides the terrible staff, the location is dirty, unkempt, and overall disgusting. If you have a particular interest in contracting fungal infections I recommend this cesspool of a gym.

Horrible place. Particularly the female employees .They are rude,have no manners ,and do not know how to conduct themselves. Once you walk in ,you are made to feel as if you came to their house uninvited,in the middle of the night .The customer service and maintenance are almost nonexistent in that place. The bathrooms are always filthy ,and seem like they haven't been cleaned in days . I never see a maintenance/custodian around, like in other locations. The showers and dressing rooms are extremely filthy. As a black card holder, when I ask them for tokens, which no other planet fitness uses, they are always reluctant to give them out. However if they do give them out, they act like they are doing you a favor and that your black card membership doesn't require them to do so. To worsen matters, the gym is never packed at all which means there should be tokens available for my membership ( black card). Also, when they claim not to have tokens, as a black card membership, they never bother to offer an alternative which is the hydrobed, and it doesn't require any tokens whatsoever. What is the point of people paying for black card membership if they won't get to enjoy any of its privileges??.
That place is very outdated, and is the only one that uses "token" for the massage chairs like we are in the 80s. I believe that, this franchise should be shut down or improve on these many issues that I mentioned previously because it's giving the planet fitness brand a very bad name for having outdated equipment and for hiring people who have terrible customer service skills. I would not recommend that location at all, especially if you are a black card holder because you won't get to use its benefits there. There are plenty of other locations where people were raised properly, and have great customer service skills.

Always disgusting. Bathroom is filthy. Sometimes no soap or toilet paper. In the fitness room you have to search for paper towels to wipe down the machines. But its convenient. 2 levels. Upstairs is Cardio, downstairs weights and Cardio. Always crowded.

The staff's lack of accountability and enforcement of good hygiene practices amongst members coupled with the limited number of paper towel/sanitizer stations makes the place a festering Staph infection. I'd estimate only 1 out of every 3 members actually take the time to properly clean their machines after use. Tread carefully, and always wipe down your machine before and after use!

They got all new equipment a month ago, Love this gym! Staff needs to do better with refilling the paper/disinfectant spray more frequently, making sure things are in order and weights/mats are available in upstairs workout area as well as downstairs, staff is slacking otherwise it would be an amazing gym

The gym at Planet Fitness is a great place to go in and get a good workout. Early in the morning works best to get a good start to the day and the machines and free weights are always in excellent shape! Staff is courteous and accommodating!

Having a local gym plays a big part especially if managing life demands all of your energy. I would recommend stopping by any Planet Fitness and take a deep look into why so many people choice a know judgment commitment 24 hours gym.

It's a large planet fitness but doesn't have enough actual work out machines which are normally all hogged up. 3 stars

Nice it's open 24 hours. It is often hard to find dumbbells because they are scattered all over the gym since patrons do not return them to the racks consistently. Maybe some have disappeared altogether.

Good for your basic workout routine. Lack a little variety in the machine but good for beginners and other. Also open 24/7, can't beat that

If you go during the middle of the day it's not bad, but the evening is the most crowded. And not just with gym goers, several homeless people live here and use locker space. This specific homeless lady that carries around a whole foods bag, comes up and has several lockers to herself stored with terrible smelling bags of clothes, sometimes you'll find her doing her hair, which smells like dried baby spit up. I don't care that I only pay $10 a month for this gym, I'm still paying, I shouldnt have to share the locker room with crazy homeless women that talk to themselves. Also if you're a female, get ready to be stared down by all the boys who have apparently never seen a female in their life, it doesn't matter how you look, they will stare and make you uncomfortable. Aside from that, the machines are decent. If you were to go to a downtown location, you would have the upgraded equipment, tho I must say the location has improved over the past year, still a ways to go.

Needs new staff.ASAP. My first time at this location and I was warned not to go. The staff were outside fighting with customers while the gym was filthy. 2 stars because I liked the equipment upstairs and tvs. I didnt even go downstairs, I just wanted to go.

Huge with lots of equipment. Could use more free weights tho. No parking lot, but metered parking is available right in front of the place. Staff is friendly, gym is usually pretty clean.

There is no question that Planet Fitness is the best gym in Astoria! It's big enough, it has a nice amount of different classes and the place itself is kept clean on a regular basis. I really like the fact that they provide towels for you which seems like a small detail but is not something that every gym provides.

It has happened more than once. Also some of the machines are out of order. One last thing, the cleaning stations run out of spray and napkins, so I unable to clean the machines. Overall I like this gym. I wish they had a few other workout machinery I've seen at other gyms. The staff is OK. Some employees are nicer than others.

This gym is NOT clean. I usually wipe down equipment before i use it just because the staff has not set up a culture of cleaning at the gym. On week nights there is a rush time from about 6-8pm. There is usually equipment EVERYWHERE. Its hard to know what goes where tbh. And if you go during a busy time there will DEFINITELY just be gangs on fit guys kind of just chilling in an area. Also there is a serious shortage of mats. However there are lots of open lockers in the locker room so its good that i can leave my stuff there over night. I would recommend being mindful of the time of day that you go if you are a self conscious person.

Visiting from Detroit and worked out at this location several times. Older gym which is showing some wear but with a good reason. The people who work out here are hard core and in amazing shape. It took me longer than usual to work out because I was gawking at all the beautiful bodies.
This location needs more free weights and maybe a few new benches. So, even as the gym is not the cleanest, neatest or most organized, it is the MOST motivating Planet Fitness that I have been to from New York to Washington State.

I like it because it's cheap and convenient for me since I live a block away.
I seriously need to speak to the CEO of this company. EVERY TIME I go to the smith machines to try and use it. I KID YOU NOT! I wait 30min tops before I give up and go home (because my mood is obviously killed now). No matter how many times I ask the men they tell me they're almost done and nothing.
There NEEDS to be some sort of freaking timer on those machines. I can NEVER use it everytime I go. It's crazy. Never. I've only used it one time in the past few months I've been going. Need to look for a better gym.
Also it's not a huge complaint, but free weights would be nice.
And about the cleanliness , not sure what time everyone else goes but around 7-9pm when I go. It's usually clean. I never seen anything dirty (besides if people don't clean after the machine they used).
Please come up with this new rule for the damn smith machines. Please !!!! I'm paying for nothing here

I have had over a dozen different gym memberships. This is the worst gym I have ever joined. My prepaid membership is still active but after a month of morning workouts I purchased a new membership at another establishment. There appears to be no maintenance. The place is dirty and trying to find weights to use is a headache.

Quite different than my home gym, it's a complete different state also and this is the city compared to my small town after all, so that might explain it. This gym is very big, lots of machines and nicely diversified. The machines are not the most clean, the disinfectants are not always full and most of the paper rolls machines are broken. Again this is a location right in the heart of this huge city so maybe the staff can't keep up with the regular business traffic.
