Very happy with the gym. Affordable and close to my apartment. It has all the equipments I need and want. If your goal is to workout, this gym is perfect. If you just want to strut around the gym to show off that you're at an overpriced gym, then Equinox is the way to go.
reasonable price and all equipment is available. Great place to work on your body
Excellent stuff, open 24/7 and with a very good price.
Highly recommended!!
I had a bad experience at this gym today that I'd like to share with everyone. At 8:45pm an elderly lady shouted, "The gym is closed, everyone out." I said I thought the gym closed at 9pm and she said, "I've decided to close it early today." I asked who she was, i.e. her position at the gym, and that if she wasn't the manager I would like to speak to the manager. She walked upstairs. She came down with another man with a beard and baseball cap. I don't know if he was staff or a gym member. I saw him working out earlier, maybe he was a patron? He was not wearing a Synergy shirt or any identification. He said the lady I spoke to earlier had stated that I cursed at her. I told him this was not true. I asked him his name and he would not give it to me, he asked me my name and I gave it to him. I explained every other Saturday that I came, the gym was open until 9pm and if there was a change, it should be stated on the website and on the front door. I plan my workouts for a certain length of time and I need to know how much time I have. He was initially very rude to me and approached in a physically threatening manner, but then after hearing me he apologized and said I could get a "refund." But when I told him I would have to report the early closing to the manager, he swore at me using the "F" word several times. I left and he said, "Have a nice week." What kind of business operates this way? Not one that I want to give my hard earned money to. The only thing I could think of is that they are going out of business soon and simply don't care anymore.
Couple nice staff, rest are rude and were incredibly rude on at least four separate occasions. Here are a few. The first was when my credit card expired and the email that they had on file for me was something I rarely checked. So they tried to charge my card and when it didn't obviously work, they forwarded it to a collection agency. For ~$40-50. They hurt my credit. I tried to bring a guest which they assured me I could do 1 time for free. I actually called ahead just to confirm. They failed to mention they would try to charge my guest $30 because my NYC resident friend had a NJ driver's license and only agreed to waive the fee after I raised hell in front of other gym goers.
When I went into the gym to cancel my membership, I was reminded that no matter when you cancel, they will charge you one more month. Meaning you're supposed to cancel over 30 days in advance. I should note this is a more strict cancellation policy than polite etiquette for giving notice at a job, a scheduled colonoscopy, my daughter's daycare enrollment to get my $500 deposit back, and matches the 30 day notice I've been required to give any landlord I've ever had. At least with the colonoscopy I am aware beforehand what procedure I've agreed to, unlike synergy gym. Join if you want to have a terrible experience and can't afford a nicer gym or are too lazy for the extra exercise to walk a couple extra blocks.

honestly, it has the best price and best hours for me. my shifts are all over, and a ton of the gyms around were not 24/7. they have plenty of squat racks and bench sets for the amount of people, and plenty of treadmills. it does the job for me and the staff is friendly enough.

This gym gets a bad rap, but It's been pretty good to me. The staff is friendly and the patrons range from serious lifters to more casual exercisers. It's kept fairly clean and maintained and the atmosphere is vastly superior to some of the bigger commercial gyms.
However, it IS a small/basic space and there are times where the gym gets really crowded. However, if you can find time to work out during "Off Peak" hours, it's a wonderful gym experience.

When I moved to East Manhattan I was looking for a gym where they will have all what I need for my powerlifting goals. Synergy exceeded my expectations. It has all what I needed! They have power racks and benches, areas to stretch and deadlift and above all of it, everyone is chill and super nice. The trainers that they have are cool and the staff are friendly. I really appreciate how clean this place is. The bathroom are flawless and someone is always there cleaning. Oh that's right I forgot to mention that they're also open 24 hours!
Unfortunately I have to move, so I had to cancel my membership. This was also a surprise because most gyms I been to always made it an issue when I closed my account. Here, I just went to their office, singed a cancellation paper then that's it! Super easy and no annoying questions.
Also shout out to RJ my sales representative. He was very welcoming when I joined 2 years go. From the moment I met him, he made me feel at home. It truly makes me sad to say good bye to my favorite gym Synergy and the people in it. I'm going to miss all the accomplishments I achieved here.
Thank you so much for being my second home Synergy Fitness. I will always cherish my memories here!

You have a trainer there, short stocky semi black dude who seems
to be taking steroids and there taking a toll on his brain. He likes to run
his mouth a lot. Totally dislike him.
I've Been goin to this gym for years, the front desk staff were always nice never had a problem to check me in since i dont have my card on my key chain, but now they got this new Spanish girl in the front desk checked me in one time and the 2nd time she goes bring your card next time cuz i cant check you in every time, after my workout session i went back to her and she still arguing with me i mean part of your job is customer service as well if you cant do it and you are gonna have an attitude with everyone you will end up losing clients, she said if you dont like it go ahead and complain, please believe that i will and your if company lack knowledge about customer service then ill take my business somewhere else.
It's a low cost neighborhood gym. It's pretty clean, all of the equipment (mostly) works, and its usually not to crowded. Plus its open almost 24/7. I think for the price and area, it is a good deal.
I really like this gym. Not only is it economical but all staff are extremely friendly and truly care about their clients. The hours are great and the equipment is plenty and in good condition. I never have to worry about waiting for a treadmill to become available. Workouts with the trainers are very fulfilling. I cannot imagine going anywhere else especially for the hours and the price.
I only came here for the rower, which the guy told me no one uses, of course every time I went someone was on it and since there is only one, it really didn't make sense to continue.
