Carolyn is an amazing instructor with a wonderfully clean and well-run studio. I always find myself learning something new in each and every yoga class I take at Pranavah with Carolyn and other amazing yoga instructors like Renee. The barre classes are always a great workout, leaving me sweaty and exhausted by the end. The yoga classes are varied and can range from a powerful, strong flow workout to a calm and soothing restorative practice. The open level vinyasa classes allow for a wide range of yogis to learn from each other, with many modifications and variations suggested. Great place to grow and learn!

Pranavah has really good vibes and is a super pleasant space to practice in. Wonderful, knowledgeable teachers! An illuminating and fulfilling Teacher Training Program. Carolyn, Sat Siri, and Carrie have established something definitely worth being a part of.

I'm new to yoga and barre, not familiar with the names and poses, but the teachers at Pranavah made everything seem possible by helping me to modify my new practice. I really enjoy Morgan's and Amelia's barre classes, they're so hard, but in a realky good way!!! All the yoga teachers I've tried are helpful and patient while I learn the flow. There are gentle classes or slow flow in the evenings, while restorative yoga on Fridays and Sundays are amazing and perfectly timed during my work week. I tried another studio in the area, but the classes were too crowded, and i didnt get the attention a beginner need. If you're a beginner like me, this is the place for you!

I absolutely love Pranavah Yoga Studio! I was a complete novice when I started almost a year ago, having never attempted yoga before because of past back injuries and surgeries, and to be honest I was quite out of shape. I wanted to change that, and had heard wonderful things about the studio, so decided to set my ego aside and walk the few blocks to give it a try.
It has been one of the best things I have done for myself! Carolyn, the owner, is kind and attentive, and takes the time to make sure you are comfortable and understand the various positions and techniques that were completely new for me. Her studio is a warm and comfortable place and her students reflect her dedication and kindness as well. I am now able to take a few more challenging yoga classes and she has also included barre classes, which are fantastic. Give her an hour several times a week and you will see and feel the difference! I have yet to meet one of her instructors I haven't been equally impressed with.
The Friday night restorative yoga class is absolutely the best way to start you weekend, after a week in this crazy busy city we call home! I feel very fortunate to have Carolyn and her studio in my neighborhood, its become an important part of my weekly schedule!

After months of passing by I finally made it to a class this lovely little studio and I'm so glad I did! My 9month old daughter attended the kids music class and she loved it. The space is bright and peaceful and the class kept her laughing and smiling the whole time. I can't wait to try the yoga classes for myself!

I started going to Pranavah Yoga back in February since then my practice has improved so much and now yoga has truly grown on me.

Prior to coming to Pranavah I had been to a ton of yoga studios and my former gym Equinox that offer yoga. To be honest, I didn't have much of an appreciation for yoga, I just always looked at it as a "good stretch" and not a workout. Ha! Not at Pranavah!
My view of yoga has completely transformed.....it is not only a good workout, it helps to relax and rejuvenate the mind. My other experiences in New York have been very crowded studios, creating a lot of limitations, thus the end result was merely a habitual practice with no real improvement.

At Pranavah, the classes are challenging because the instructor will add variations so students across all levels can have the opportunity to improve. Carolyn, the instructor, truly takes the time to evaluate your form throughout the class and give constructive feedback. She knows her students by name and really cares! We are always learning and perfecting new poses. It has been less than a year and I am doing things that I never thought I would do in a yoga class.

All in all yoga at Pranavah: is a rewarding, fun stress-relieving workout!

I am very happy that I found this studio!

Another plus: very clean with a nice inviting environment.

Reasons to visit Pranavah:

1. You'll get personal attention - I have made more progress and gotten more out of my practice in the last three months with Carolyn than I have in my last three years of practicing regularly. She is really present and pays attention to each person, guiding them and giving appropriate feedback, which brings me to #2...
2. She knows her stuff - Every time I walk in that door I learn something new. And I feel comfortable and confident that I won't hurt myself because she's the queen of alignment.
3. She's a sincere person - It's obvious she really cares that you are progressing and enjoying yourself. This makes such a big difference!
4. Even her challenging classes are relaxing - I might leave exhausted but I always feel more relaxed.
5. She has great taste in music - You know it's important.
6. The studio is beautiful - Clean, simple, beautiful wood floors, big windows.
7. It's easy to find a class that fits your schedule - Seriously, check out the schedule.
8. The studio is well-located - One stop away from Grand Central! And Long Island City is such a great area. (Side note: There's a really great place to get green juices and smoothies right by the Vernon Jackson stop called Paris Health New Direction.)
9. The classes are reasonably priced - I've tried more yoga studios than I care to count and feel that I can say with some authority that not only are the prices here reasonable, but you're getting way more value than you will at most other studios.

Bottom line: Carolyn is amazing. Do yourself a favor and get your cute, soon to be incredibly toned butt over here!
