Walked in one evening for a led class a couple months ago, and have been coming here 5-6 days a week for Mysore practice ever since! All the teachers here are wonderful :)

Amazing place to practice everyday! Fantastic teachers and atmosphere. Teachers are kind and professional. I have been here for more than 2 years. They taught me the joy of yoga no matter my condition( pregnancy or injury).

The teachers at Land Yoga are wonderful, and as a complete newcomer to Ashtanga yoga, it has been an entirely welcoming and excellent experience.

I came to Land looking to try an Ashtanga studio. I happened across a YouTube video of an Ashtanga practitioner, and was stunned by the strength and grace he exhibited. I was also attracted to the unique format - having my practice guided personally by an instructor, and not worrying about keeping up with a group class where everyone is asked to do the postures together. At Land, you show up, roll out your mat and start working with an instructor one-on-one. After you get the hang of it, they back off and let you repeat or rest, but always keeping an eye on you and are available if you have questions. Your instructor gives you new postures to add to your practice as you develop. I have felt more growth and inspiration during this past year of practicing Ashtanga than I have in 7 years of practicing yoga combined. This practice is as serious as you want it to be. Land hosts a lecture series where you can learn about the other elements of yoga (aside from the physical practice), but there's no pressure or dogmatic insistence. It's a bit more pricey than other studios around, but you definitely get more for your money. The class sizes are small, and each instructor gets to know you personally. If you're shy or new to yoga, you'll appreciate the semi-private classes. If you're a seasoned practitioner, you will quickly take your practice to the next level.

I have been practicing yoga at Land Yoga for almost two years, and for the first time, I really love yoga. I had been to classes at another studio, but always found them incredibly stressful -- too many people packed in together, too many props (blocks, straps, etc) and a less than friendly atmosphere outside the studio. The self practice at Land Yoga is great, and led classes and workshops are also available (I always learn something new when I take a class, even if I've taken the class before). Lara and her team of instructors are helpful and caring, and the practitioners are friendly. I have found a very nice community centered around Land Yoga. It is just what our neighborhood needed!

When I first started attending yoga classes at Land Yoga the teachers were so welcoming and encouraging. I had thought that the class would just help me stretch once a week. I was wrong. I ended up walking in to an exercise that helps me feel fully in my body, strong, and peaceful. Lara and Dana are supportive teachers who have helped me believe in my ability to gain strength and flexibility. Land Yoga is a great place for people at all levels of yoga. Lara is also dedicated to bringing the healing nature of yoga to those in need and is often involved in charity work. She sets the vibe for a compassionate center dedicated to helping everyone thrive.

What a great studio to learn yoga. All are welcome regardless of experience. The people are friendly and so helpful. The truth is I have done yoga a few times in the past and never liked it. Recently, I had a tremendous amount of stress. I made a visit to my doctor who recommended I try yoga. I thought to myself great she is suggesting I do something I don't even like. This will only add to my stress. I figured I would give yoga one more try. Since I live near to Land Yoga I signed up for one month. I can honestly say it has really changed my life. One month later I am sleeping better, less stressed and even getting tone.

I am truly grateful that Land Yoga landed in Harlem because it has improved my well-being. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

First time doing ashtanga yoga. Wasn't easy, but it was a lot of fun, and Laura was a great instructor. Will definitely be back.
