Small and more focused classes which add a great sense of serenity to your practice. I go here early on the weekends and it's the best feeling when you're fresh out of yoga class strolling around the Upper East Side. One of my favorite memories of NYC.
A beautiful boutique yoga school with a variety of class options. Knowledgeable and compassionate teachers. Small class sizes, so you get personal alignment adjustments.

Five Stars for Five Pillars! This place is such a gem. All yoga I have done here is taught by classically trained teachers and stays true to what yoga is which is what I look for in a studio. All the teachers I have had here have been good to excellent. Very simple, inviting, cozy practice space.

I found this place by following a teacher I love and respect. What I found was a studio that is that is beautiful and great. The studio is bright and airy and the staff is consistently really kind. The classes are all great, challenging, but accessible.

Five Pillars Yoga is an amazing yoga studio on the Upper East Side, set in a beautiful space overlooking Madison Avenue. The teachers are top notch, location is excellent and the small class sizes allow for direct instruction within a greater group. This is a place to really get your om on!!
Yoga Basics is the perfect class for me as I re-build strength and flexibility from double hip replacement. Every week the focus is on different poses and areas of the body at a slow, steady, restorative pace.
Five Pillars is the perfect little retreat. The classes are challenging, instructors motivating, personal and hands on, and the space is beautiful. I look forward to every class at Five Pillars!
As a beginning yoga practitioner, I valued the small classes and attentive instructors. The space is intimate without feeling cramped. Very clean. Great vibe--might even call it zen. The lavender scented hand towels (I think it's lavender) and the gong are a nice touch!
Great studio with amazing teachers, each and everyone of them is bringing their own practice and style which makes this studio unique. From ashtanga to restorative and yin, you can find any type of practice suitable for you. Thank you!
Five Pillars Yoga is the perfect neighborhood yoga studio - bright and clean with welcoming staff and excellent teachers who lead classes with positive energy and provide you with the space to practice at your own pace without judgement. I highly recommend this wonderful studio!
Love this studio!!! All of the instructors are so genuine and truly fantastic. All around such great people here. The instructors are there to help you get the most out of your practice and make real progress. Really a gem of a place.

Five Pillars is a wonderful clean studio with a roster of impressive teachers. My favorite instructor is Vida Dominguez, because of her fun accessible class with great music! It was just what I needed.
I had recently begun practicing yoga and Five Pillars has made it a very enjoyable experience. I have progressed a great deal after just a few classes thanks to the instructors at Five Pillars - plus the studio is clean, the mats provided are top notch, and the location is convienent. Whether you are new to yoga like me or have been practicing for years, I highly recommend this studio!
This studio is so great. The teachers are all very friendly and knowledgeable. I really enjoy the classes and there is something for everyone.
If you want a smaller intimate yoga experience this is the place to go. The teachers are extremely attentive to each student's needs and the studio offers many different type of yoga practice as well as different workshops.
One of my best new year resolution was to start to take Yoga classes at Five Pillars. So Far I took 5 classes. All were great. The studio is amazing , the instructors are great and there is a great choice of classes. In short, highly recommended.
Five Pillars is an amazing yoga studio! The instructors are really wonderful. I've been to different classes and have had several instructors, and I've enjoyed all of them. I especially love Nandini's classes. It's great for all levels. I myself am a beginner and feel that the different levels fit my needs- the instructors provide modification as needed. The studio itself is really comfortable and welcoming. I really love coming here and would recommend it to anyone.

I have been practicing vinyasa style yoga, mostly in Connecticut, for over 10 years. Since I now also live on the upper east side, I was looking for local yoga studio and was lucky to find Five Pillars Yoga. I started going to Five Pillars Yoga a week ago and already took five classes, each with a different instructor, all of whom were excellent. The classes were all challenging and varied. The studio itself has two practice rooms that are clean and comfortable and with a very good energy. I highly recommend the studio.
The teachers are so welcoming. They seamlessly adapt the class for the most advanced and the newest students. Everyone gets a great workout in a serene, clean and brand-new looking studio. The "warm" yoga is perfect! The temperature is just right where you get a great workout but don't feel suffocated by the heat. I'm so glad to have found this studio!
This studio is incredible. I have taken most of the level 1 and basic classes and they are all great. Really nice environment and great instruction.
My husband and I are really stiff, and we really enjoy THE basic yoga class, especially that Nandini is so thorough in explaining about our bodies, it is really a basic class, something that I have been looking for. She takes time in each student, listens to our questions and concerns, it is what I have been looking for! The studio is very clean and beautiful with red brick wall, it has wide rounded windows from the second floor, overlooking the trees on Madison Ave, what a nice view during practice! Jamie helps with reservations at Five Pillars Yoga, she is super helpful and very friendly! Highly recommend this place!
Five Pillars Yoga is a light filled immaculate studio. The seasoned instructors are welcoming to all levels of yogis.
A super healthy focus on alignment and strengthening your body and mind.
I have loved getting back into yoga after recently having my third child!! I am so glad Five Pillars is in the neighborhood. I have tried several different instructors and found them all to be excellent. I can't wait to get my core back with more yoga!!
I love the restorative yoga class I take at Five Pillars. I always feel great afterward (you might even say I feel restored!) Jeff, the instructor, is wonderful about helping people (me!) who can't always take the poses exactly as described. And I find the "business" part of the studio to be very easy to use and well organized.
