Everything I need to get results. Been a part of Planet Fitness and let me tell you Retro is on a completely different level. The staff truly cares and my trainer Shawn is simply the best. He pushes me to reach my potential and is just a great person to be around. So glad I joined this gym.

Retro is not just a gym, it's like you're surrounded by family. After having a tour of the gym with Ben and talking to him I knew right away this is going to be a fun place to work out. With the most friendliest staff ever and my amazing personal trainer Bobby, who makes every workout fun and interesting. There's so much more to that gym: there's a juice bar, a movie theater, there's even a daycare. So there's no excuse for not working out. It's a gym like no other.

I like this place. I been there for couple months. Alex is my trainer he's very good I was 190 pounds for now I'm 160. He teach you what you should eat what you should not. I have fun

I have been a member at this gym working with Alex my Trainer. Our collaboration has been a good one. I am very satisfied with the work we've put in for the past three years.

I've been with retro fitness church ave since its opening. It is also my first ever gym membership. I have never showed my appreciation to the greatness this gym offers. This gym has helped me build confidence and create a lifestyle that i love. The staff has been amazing since day 1, the shakes are addictive, and what i love most is that the gym is CLEAN AND ALWAYS OPEN. This neighborhood has no other gym like retro, dont waste your time going to any of the other gyms, I've checked them all; they're either secretly closing down, small, no equipment, dirty, no shakes, close at like 9 to 11pm. The list goes on... there is no other gyms in the next 5 square miles i would even consider. Retro church ave is a gym that i will be apart of forever. GO RETROOOOO!!!

Black hole of a contract. Looking to get your money more than investing in your fitness. Manager is never there and staff is never aware of when his/her presence will ever grace the gym. Negative Star Rating

Management is amazing. For membership talk to Benjamin and he'll take great care of you. If you need personal training Danny will hook you up and save you money. Ian Mercer is the best trainer around.

I do have to say I just love this gum, the staff is friendly I am able to do the group classes but the down side of it is I have noticed that patrons will take out their phones and start recording. I did not give my permission to be recorded by anyone so why is it being done????????? Just put down your phone and just join the class.

Stay away from this gym if you don't want to get deceived. As I read other reviews regarding contracts, same happened to me. They will never tell you it's a contract/12 month commitment/12 month agreement. Tricky language is used by Benjamin (the snake manager). He's the same ole con/scheming manager from Bally's on Tilden Ave which is now 24hr fitness. And when you want to cancel, he states x amount of dollars (usually hundreds) needs to be paid to get out. If anyone knew this in the beginning, they will not join. Secondly, their bathrooms are stink, IT NEVER HAS HAND SOAP. Alleviate your stress and patronize contract free gyms.

I have been a member of this gym since October 2017. There are maaaannnnyy things to LOVE about this branch!! They are very clean (thanks Sylvia!), have all the equipment that you will need to whip into shape, and have an infectious culture of wellness that permeates throughout the membership. Everyone is helpful, especially the trainers. I have been very fortunate to spend time with Oelex, Hatuey and Sean. They are amazing professionals who genuinely want to see your body transform. Currently, I am training with Sean and I would recommend him to anyone who is in search of a trainer who will push you to your limits while being understanding of real life issues (e.g., work, emergencies, lack of motivation, "lady"). He is patient and, above all, willing to put in the time so that you get the most out of your workout. I can't tell you how many sessions where I have tried to run down the time by complaining or taking breaks... that doesn't bother him - you WILL finish your workout! With that kind of support, who wouldn't want to return and try to improve? I'm very grateful for this gym. The personable professionalism displayed by Danny, God bless him. He has a saint-like patience and is a professional in handling difficult patrons like myself (I'm not that bad). Oh yes, who can forget Jasmine and Nelly?! They are amazing! I'm telling you, every single person who works at this branch contributes to it's awesomeness. Good job hiring team. Even if I don't want to work out, I'll go just so I can treat myself to Jazz or Nelly's delicious shake (chocolate mocha). People, the ratings are like this for a reason - and it's affordable! There is no reason to go anywhere else. None.

Very disgusting bathroom and locker room. It is always dirty and has the most horrible smell. I've been to 7 other Retro Fitness gyms, and I have to say that this one is the filthiest. All the other ones were very clean... You're lucky to even get hand soap in the bathroom... I told the staff about it, but when I came back a week later it was still dirty with the same mildew stench... Maybe they had a water leak and it got into the carpet, but it is really disgusting!

She is very knowledgeable and about her craft, and she provided me with a meal plan to help me reach my goals. She makes herself available to me when I am at the gym and she is not (through text messaging) , showing me her dedicated she is to helping me my fitness goals.

Because there contracts are not flexible for the community its located in.its a one year contract that can't be broken very easily.

Overall great location! The gym is always clean and the staff is very friendly. I have been training with Alex for 3 months and am down 2 dress sizes. I recommended my whole family to join and everyone loves it.

The bathrooms aren't the cleanest and that's how I judge a gym. Unless you are going in the morning, there aren't enough lockers in the changing space and the lockers in the common areas are so tiny and can't hold much. I feel like you can easily unnoticed unless you have a personal trainer. It is ok but not my vibe.

Great Convenient Location. Professional Personal Trainers. Highly Recommend Ian Mercer in Less Then a Month I felt Result already. The Guy is Amazing.

Great gym for a great price. Very spacious, has tons of useful classes, provides daycare, has a theater with cardio machines and they also sell smoothies they make on the spot . The best part is the fact that it's open 24 hours during weekdays. Watch out "expensive gyms"!

The staff is friendly and attentive. They have a great range of weights, both dumbells plates. There's 1 Smith machine, 1 squat rack, and a power rack. 1 punching bag. There are plenty of options here. My only complaint is the cleanliness of the ladies locker room; which is partially the patrons fault. The patrons also occasionally forget to rerack the weights properly.

The place is very clean and the staff is on point. My trainer Hatuey Battle , helped me so much . I have learned to breathe properly while I exercise. He is respectful, patient and a all around great trainer. I learned to work out properly because of him. Thanks Hatuey,keep up the good work. Go check him out and get in shape.

AABSOLUTELY WORST GYM..Worse experience ever I had to stop my training exercise and run to the ER last February, 2017. Since then due to my health was advise by my doctor not to go back. They've been billing me since then and according to the owner Benjamin Peker can't canceled until I paid off what he billed me which is $451.40 for personal training and $78.33 for the monthly membership. They're a ripp off ..People BE AWARE OF RETRO FITNESS DO NOT SIGN IN

Great atmosphere and courteous staff as well as clean and new equipments... Locker room is a bit small but I only use it for bathroom and storage, so I'm good.
