Modo Yoga Williamsburg is my favorite yoga studio in all of New York. All of the teachers are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the sessions feel like a moving meditation. The studio is very well kept and you can rent just about anything you would need. I love the variety of classes they offer, I usually stick with the Modo 60 or Modo Flow and I prefer the classes with music (noted on their schedule). They have a Modo Love class once a week and I believe the proceeds are donated to a charity. They serve tea which is extra soothing after a mellow class and they have a small shop with natural oils and beauty care products. Their live plant wall is beautiful. I always leave Modo on cloud nine, the entire experience is very zen.

Modo has literally changed my life. I signed up for a one month unlimited, and ended up going so often. I feel so much stronger and more flexible physically, and clearer and at peace mentally. Yoga (particularly heated) is such a big part of my life now. I am even considering a teacher training to deepen my practice. Everyone at Modo is so positive and inspiring. I highly recommend!!

Modo changed the way I relate to yoga, and to my body. I always got distracted by the music, fast/seemingly dangerous pace, and often really gendered spaces of yoga in past experiences. Modo offers silence, slow and mindful movement, and an environment that doesn't leave me feeling like I've joined some screwed up cult of girlish white womanhood. I wish I could afford to join Modo more regularly, and am considering the Energy Exchange! Really appreciate that they make that available to make the space more equitable and diverse.

So lucky that Modo is our neighborhood studio, because it's the kind of sanctuary I'd travel for. Intense workout, gorgeous studio and yet somehow accessible and welcoming every time. Every class I take I swear is the best class I've ever taken. Highly recommended.

I've been coming here through Fit Reserve and use my 4 out of 5 classes at Modo. The studio is airy and open, you are rarely on top of anyone else. Showers and locker rooms are nice and clean. I like that they have classes every hour so it's convenient for my schedule. I haven't had many teachers twice, despite having been to 15 classes, which is a bit odd to me. I like most though and all classes are a little different, for better or for worse. I'm hooked and excited to progress my practice here.

My favorite yoga studio in NYC. The staff is friendly and they have great classes. I like that the classes are challenging and you can get a great workout. The studio is clean and they have great showers.

I usually go to the West Village location but this location is nicer and more spacious, with more lobby/yoga space. I think the temperature in these rooms are much hotter as well. As always, everything here was clean and the experience was wonderful.

This location has less people so it's not as crowded, while the West Village seems to be always booked during certain hours.

The only con about this place is that it's kind of far away from the train station (~10 min walk).

I love Modo yoga. I've tried other hot studios and this one is the best by far. I think the rental prices are unfair when you're paying a membership. Other than that it is such a relaxing oasis that can so much good for you inside and out.

In love. Instructors are so sweet, inspiring and happy. Studio is very clean and has a great atmosphere. The classes have you feeling good from the second you walk in till the second you walk out. Hot Yin with Sasha is my favorite class when I'm looking for a light but extremely cathartic session. Modo with Katrina and/or Josh is awesome- but really ALL instructors are amazing. I look forward to my practice every single day- I can't wait to get there! And as for the heat, after a while it becomes normal... I found myself not even noticing it after a few weeks of regular practice. Highly recommended for the ultimate yoga experience!!! Everyone there lives and breathes yoga- and isn't that the whole point?!

I did the 2 month summer trial. It's my favorite studio in the city and has few great teachers but my biggest disappointment is a lack of consistency. An instructor with an ego can be a buzzkill for the weekend.

The studio in Williamsburg is beautiful, very clean and the rooms get hot. Expect to sweat for real. This studio is better than MANY and better than the one they have in Manhattan. It gets five stars.

Tara and Valerie are outstanding teachers; they really help you improve your practice and they always want to show you more. They both practice with you, they are real yogi. They get five stars!

Unfortunately, they are not there all the time and I've had plenty of weak classes, more weak classes than good ones, to the point where I gave up trying to chase a quality class at Modo. Consistency is king. Sorry Modo, I really liked you!

The most uptight rule orientated yoga studio in NYC. Arrived for a 7am class literally TWO minutes past after I had been cycling around furiously looking for a Citi Bike dock and they would not let me in --- and wouldn't even mark me off to not get the ClassPass fine.
I don't know what it is with this one in particular but not a single person here practices the love and flow they preach. They could do with removing the yoga mats from their ass and extending some welcome or compassion for those who choose to try this studio. I am almost certain that not a single person would have died today by letting me quietly slide into the side of this half full overly-heated room before even the first OM had taken place.
My recommendation is to try any of the other 100s of overpriced studios surrounding this one -- you'd likely even find more zen among the trash piles in the street.
