The exercises are programmed very well and you are under the watchful eye of the trainers the entire time. Definitely recommended.

I've been a member here now for about two years now. However, this will be my last month as a member as I recently joined Equinox CC.
Definitions Private Training Gyms is a great gym, but I wasn't using my membership to its full potential (all my fault). This location was recently renovated and with that renovation, I think a lot more people joined.

My favorite time to workout is usually in the morning, but due to my work schedule, I wasn't able to go in the mornings and by the end of the day, I was exhausted. The busiest times here, or at any gym really, are the hours right after a normal 9-5 work schedule. The aerobic machines are usually available, but the free weights section is packed.

The best time to go is very early in the morning. I took some of the group classes here and they were pretty good.
The smoothie bar is a plus, too.
Overall a great value if you plan on going regularly.

I have been training with Bobby since February and cannot be happier with progress have been made since. Bobby has extremely good work ethic and never bothered to tell me how/why on every step. I never went to gym my entire life till before I met Definitions and Bobby. Bobby has been very professional, patient showing me ABCs on training and I have seen great improvement already.

I am very happy and lucky that I met Bobby as my personal trainer.

Thank you.

I can't say enough good things about Definitions. I've been struggling with diets and on again/off again workout routines for a good three years trying to get back in shape before signing up here. I can honestly say that training with Bobby at Definitions has been the only thing that's stuck. I like working out but can get bored easily, but the workouts I've had here have been varied and challenging and I find myself actually looking forward to my appointments. Bobby also has a way of talking about food and how to balance healthy eating with still living your life that just clicked and has really made a difference for me.

The space is no nonsense with good equipment and is never too crowded, but also is not over the top and intimidating. I struggled with the cost when first signing up, but made the commitment and it's been worth every penny. After three solid months of Definitions, I'm already about halfway to my initial goal, and already thinking about how much further I can go. If you're stuck and want to start seeing results, go see Bobby!

After a long search for the right gym experience and fruitless memberships at overcrowded, cookie-cutter, 'big box' corporate gyms with uninterested and distracted personal trainers, I decided to check out Definitions for a complimentary evaluation and haven't looked back. I joined on the spot and have been a regular member for the last year and a half. My trainer Andrew, at the 58th St. location, is the best I've ever had. His training style, genuine dedication to my progress and improving my core strength, combined with his knowledge and understanding of muscle groups and proper exercise, goes beyond any I've previously experienced. My training is focused, goal oriented and has proven, tangible results.

I feel at home and part of a team at Definitions. The entire staff is extremely personable, everyone knows you by name and all are very professional. Facilities are also clean and well maintained with modern equipment.

If you are seeking intense and reliable training tailored specifically for you, with one-on-one attention by truly experienced and enthusiastic trainers and in a private, trainer-only gym environment, look no further than Definitions Private Training Gyms!

The experience here is much better than a regular gym. It is indeed private and all of the trainers attention is focused on you. Because of the limited capacity, they get to know you and your body type very well to help build a different routine, every day. The trainers are all very knowledgable and certified through various college degrees and certifications.

I've been training for over 30 years with personal trainers in various high end gyms offering multiple classes and spa amenities. After having multiple trainers I was often exposed to repetitive workout sessions with very little to no results. One on one training is a dime a dozen in Manhattan, but one on one PERSONAL training is something that I found at Definitions with Andrew Reid. Once I left the flashy gym scene I thought I would miss the amenities, but after my first two months at Definitions I haven't looked back; I've been an active member for three years.

The key to personal one on one training is finding the most compatible trainer, both professionally and personally. I work out four to five times a week and if you can't relate to your trainer personally then you lack desire to show up. Andrew's approach to training is progressive in the sense that he works to improve physical limitations and weaknesses in order to better prepare myself to work at an intensity higher than I thought possible, while at the same time minimizing my risk for injury.

Prior to Andrew's employment at Definitions, I trained with three other trainers who I must say were far better than trainers I've had in the past, one of which who sold me on joining Definitions without hesitation. I actually smile walking to the gym as exercise awaits!

I have been training at Definitions for over 2 years, most recently with Bobby. A first-class private training experience - I am consistently pushed beyond what I would do on my own. Bobby is a great teacher and motivator.
