It has a quiet and peaceful environment. Cell phone free and noise free
Most workouts are boring, repetitive, and not very challenging and the floors get really dirty. The dance classes are fun but can be hard to follow. They provide you with all the equipment (including water and towels) which is nice. But I won't be back cause there wasn't really any classes I really liked
I have been going here for almost two years. I love it. Even the environment is a refuge. I mostly do the hourglass class (that works mostly the abs and butt), and it's amazing. A great workout, and it also makes me feel awesome when I'm done. I feel stronger, and have noticed changes in my body over time. There have been some stretches of time where I haven't been able to go, and I always look forward to my return. She will also teach you things over time to keep your body overall healthy and limber, like certain stretches and foam-rolling techniques. It is a whole-body approach. There are also different sessions and activities they will occasionally host there, like a one-time special group class on Sunday with an aromatherapist, which was fun.
As Maya will tell you, and as others on Yelp have mentioned, it really does take some time to master the moves, and get your body used to being in different positions than you're used to. If you just go once or twice, and don't really listen, you might feel like you don't get much out of it. If you can afford it, I HIGHLY recommend paying for a one-on-one private hour-long session with Maya. I did two private sessions before I did the groups, and while I can't afford to do that weekly or monthly, it REALLY gave me an edge when doing the group classes. I'm not super coordinated, so I wanted to be able to get the most out of the group classes, knowing the basic techniques she uses. The perfect position to get the maximum workout is built on subtle adjustments that Maya will help you learn, but if you're like me, that could take a few tries to remember it. But it's been worth it. It's true that the better you get, the harder it becomes. Amazing teacher, and amazing workout.
The instructor Molly was really nice, and was totally cool with me coming a few minutes late. But beyond that, there's nothing redeeming about this place. The class isn't challenging in any way whatsoever, and there are strange breathing movements we are asked to focus on. Not a workout at all.
Lovely space with wonderful classes. Maya is professional and encouraging.
