I love this place! I had been debating for a while about joining but I finally took the leap and tried the $25 package. I loved it from my first ride with Stephanie who is awesome at 6:30 on a Monday morning. Anyway I just renewed my monthly package and I am taking part in the #marchchallenge for myself not really the prizes although I wouldn't mind winning something. I enjoyed the birthday ride with Tiffany and I am looking forward to some more birthday (or special) rides here. I like the way I am feeling right now. Thanks BYKlyn Cycle

Website is terrible, it stole a class from me. They also kept texting me with information that was totally inaccurate to my purchase, I was confused whether or not I was actually signed up - so then had to waste more time double checking on their terrible website. I also didn't get my requested instructor the time I went. Costumer service didn't get back to me regarding my missing class issue. Overall, it seems like it's run by good people & no frills classes which I like, but honestly it's a complete mess in terms of how this business is being run imo.

I've been going to BYKlyn for months now and this would be my second review... surely it has evolved from then. I've done weeknight classes which are suitable for my work schedule and now weekend classes because Chi was introduced to my life! She's honestly a breath of fresh air (which I am gasping for during those hills! lol) while inspiring and vibrant AND still working us out thoroughly at all fitness level. She not only urges you but she encourages you at all levels and shows that each step can be modified, she CARES FOR YOUR POOR BUM on that saddle (because the struggle is real!) She advocates listening to your body, drinking and not flying through your cycling just because but to feel it. This IS soul cycling at its best at BYKlyn. This new year will be filled with more cycling for me, thanks to Chi! Svetlana, Kat, and Tyeisha are also thrilling routines to keep the stress level down during my week. Homage to BYKlyn for my wellness 2020 self-care!

BYKlyn is amazing! The spin classes are always so fun and challenging, and the studio has an amazing community feel. Makes you want to keep coming back again and again! I highly recommend taking a class!

I love the PureBYK classes with Sara! A hard and rewarding workout! + the owner and staff are super welcoming and friendly

BYKLYN is incredible. It's a no frills, straight to the point kind of place. All of the instructors I've had have been engaged and play great music. I love the diverse crowd of staff and riders - definitely not a Soul Cycle scene. So unpretentious and fun!

I never considered spin class until finding BYKlyn on the web and stacking to them up against their bigger, flashier competitors. The BYKlyn studio is a perfect neighborhood spot, with an unpretentious, welcoming atmosphere run by a friendly, helpful team. I've cycled under a few regular instructors (plus a few others just to mix it up), each with a unique instruction style and music selection for the ride, and it never gets boring. If you need some motivation and want to break a sweat, give BYKlyn a spin. Big plus: the newbie promotion = perfect intro!

BYKlyn is awesome! Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they have great deals and the atmosphere is inclusive and welcoming. I wish they had more midday classes, so hopefully that will happen soon! I strongly recommend this studio if you love to spin.

BYKLN is such a great place for spinning. I attend Eric's on weekly basis and they really have great training programs during the class. Every week I feel a little bit more stronger. Glad I have the chance to join BYKLN! Also the instructors and staffs are all friendly and nice. Recommend to anyone who is looking for a good training on spinning.

I have been taking indoor cycling classes for over 12 years now, and even taught Spinning for a number of years. I've done FlyWheel, Swerve, Peloton, SoulCycle, Monster Cycle, etc. in those years as well, and while those other places have their benefits in tapping into people's competitive nature or desire for a community (or cult?), there's something refreshingly pure about BYKlyn - at least in the handful of classes I have taken there over the past few months.

The instructors are all genuine, real people who design their classes to give you maximum sweat without gimmicks or nonsense choreography. I find myself working harder and with more resistance at BYKlyn than I ever did at SoulCycle. Also HUGELY appreciated is that they teach at SAFE speeds and encourage resistance, which isn't the case at a lot of other studios where you have to pedal over 120 bpm at low resistance (i.e. injuries waiting to happen).

They build a community feeling with riders in the simple common denominator that everyone there is looking for a fun workout that can also improve your fitness level.

I tend to prefer the classes without arms/weight, because I want as much time as possible to work on pushing my aerobic capacity, and thankfully the majority of BYKlyn's classes are no-arms/weights classes.

They are also far more affordable to buy class packages and memberships than pretty much anywhere else, so that's a huge plus!

The only thing I would wish for is showers, which they don't have so it's not realistic for me to take morning classes before work. But I guess they just don't have the space for that. But everything else that I love about this studio makes up for it.

Love it! Each teacher is great! They are always motivating and beyond friendly and ready to help. It's an added bonus their mascot is an adorable dog!

BYKlyn is a great local studio. Teachers are on par with teachers at some of the national studios, and a few are even better. The vibe is very down to earth, which is a pleasant contrast to some of the other cycling studios in the city. The studio runs fun competitions and supports local charities, which is always nice to see. There is an amazing dog, Penny, who works part-time at the reception desk :)

Four stars because the studio's amenities are not as luxurious as other places in the city - for example, the studio doesn't have showers.

BYKlyn is my happy workout place! The instructors are all super motivating and talented yet down to earth. The music is fun and energizing. And I feel exhausted and sweaty after every ride!

I believe I am really lucky to have found BYKlyn. I chose them randomly when I got a week of free classes at a gym of my choice from my employer. I found them to be very welcoming and accommodating. The staff is polite and efficient. They offer classes often enough that I can make it there despite my very busy schedule (full-time job and school). The classes are very well lead and the people that take them seem to love them and come back. There is a sense of community. They also have some fun group events. I am definitely going to stick with them.

Great neighborhood spot. I have walked in a few times on my way to the gym when a class was about to kick off and skipped the gym. I love that they don't use the monitors too much and also have a music theme at times. The place is clean, affordable, no crazy gimmicks or fitness trends, focus on form and having a fun ride.

I found BYKlyn a few months ago when I moved to the area and I am so happy I did! The staff is friendly and the space is super clean and inviting. (Note - They don't have a locker room, which isn't a deal-breaker for me, and do have ton of storage for personal items inside the studio). The instructors are terrific. Though it's a tough workout, I never feel like it's a job; the instructors are great at keeping things fun and engaging! (Shout-out for the great music!) I also really appreciate that their pricing is more reasonable than many other studios I have been to in the past - and the quality of the workout is is just as good, if not better, than some of those bigger studio chains. Plus, I get to support a local Brooklyn business every time I work out!

Great instructors, great work outs, great community! I'm not one of those people who constantly obsess over workouts or places to work out, but this has been the only thing keeping me in the fitness game consistently for over one year! Moved to the next neighborhood and still attending this location. It's exactly what I need. Spin, with enough variation for when I feel like working out outside of just legs (bike & bootcamp!) I just find the instructors to have great taste in music, and always keeping us in that motivated space. Get in, get your workout on, get out. Exactly what I needed.

BYKlyn is worth checking out. The instructors are encouraging, down-to-earth, and always push me to get the most out of my workout. And they have some really motivating and cool playlists that appeal to all music tastes. There's also a great sense of community here; all the riders are so friendly and welcoming. It's a great place to make and stick to healthy habits.

This is a small neighborhood Spin studio and I am so glad I walked in randomly one day to try a class. The instructors are lovely people and are really interested in making sure that you are putting in the WORK every single class. The crowd here is diverse in age, gender and race making it a very welcoming place to either start or continue your Spin practice. I ALWAYS feel better after a class at BYKlyn!

Love BYKlyn- have tried other cycling studios/spin classes and BYKlyn always my favorite. Down to earth community & focused on cycling! Bikes have mileage/speed tracking, which I like. Combo cycling/bootcamp classes are also great. Would recommend!

I've taken plenty of spin classes in my time in New York, and none have brought me such a sense of community and enjoyment as BYKlyn has. I've taken a variety of times for classes with quite a few of the instructors, and they all truly love what they're doing, and want you to love it too. I don't know how they do it, but the instructors always remember my name, and the reception team takes note of your preferred shoes, so when you check in you don't even have to do anything, they already have handed you what you need. The classes themselves are phenomenal. This is a "sexy shoulders" free zone which I really appreciate. Everything done on the stationary bike is something that can be done on a real bicycle; no dancing on the bike, no weights, just a ride that will have you feeling it for at least the next day. Nicole's Friday night class is my favorite across the board, though. Its 60 minutes of pure endurance, but somehow, the class flies by. Probably because Nicole is right in there with you, sometimes even getting off the podium bike to join you in the "classroom" to get through the muddy parts. I can't recommend BYKlyn highly enough, its the real deal when it comes to safe, fun, fitness, and community.

I absolutely love this place! It's super inspiring and not overwhelming at all. While some places are a lot of fun to go once, but are super overstimulating, I feel right at home at Byklyn and love going several times per week. Even going frequently, there's plenty of variety in instructors and rides that I never get bored and am always challenged. Highly recommend!!

Expensive, as is most spinning, but very friendly staff and the cutest dog.

This was my first time at a spin class and I loved it! The class instructor was great, definitely going back.

I started going to BYKlyn in June - I was seeking a local alternative to SoulCycle, which I always found to be too packed + loud, and have been going to at least one or two classes a week since then. The studio + staff are very welcoming, and the classes are challenging without being overwhelming. I particularly like Eric and Jo's classes.

Decent spin spot with good equipment and decent but inconsistent trainers. The additional 3 bucks for shoe rental is annoying.

October 18, 2017 11:01

I went last night for a class using my class pass membership. The class was well-led and I loved the arm workout at the end. I brought my own shoes, but I don't understand why a class that's normally so expensive would also charge you for shoe rental.
