Over 2 years after I cancelled my membership, they continue to spam me promotional emails even after I have asked a dozen times to be removed from their email list. They were also a huge pain when I tried to cancel my membership, telling me I had to wait and talk to a manager on the phone and repeatedly grilling me about why I was cancelling. Pisspoor customer service.
Great location and equipment, friendly staff and super bright clean
Perfectly fine as a basic gym in the area, but far outdone by other Crunch gyms in the area including Park Slope which is just a few blocks away.
Cons: too expensive for what you get especially if you dont use classes. Space is very cramped, temperature is usually way too hot, locker rooms are adequate but nothing special and few showers, towels are basically hand-rags which is a bit ridiculous.
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff, free classes
Absolutely love it here! They have everything you need. Clean, great equipment, and staff is friendly.
The class I took was perfectly fine, but the management of this gym is a mess. I signed up for a class on class pass, showed up early for my session and was directed to the wrong part of the gym and thus missed the first part of the class. I received promotional emails from the gym and immediately unsubscribed, then continued to receive promotional emails from individual employees of the gym. I asked to be taken off their mailing lists again, filed a complaint to class pass' customer service and still have continued to receive promotional emails asking me to sign up. Never going back.
The gym itself is fine, my issue is with the billing department. When I joined they accidentally added my credit card to another members account (in addition to adding it to my account) so for the first 3 months I was being double billed. When I tried to get this fixed they told me that it was not an issue even when I was showing the double charges. They only paid attention when my credit card company was involved.
After that every month they added an extra fee to my monthly charge. It took me 2 months and 6 attempts to reach out to customer service to get them to even respond. They owe me $60 in unfair fees.
If you have any type of billing issue it is really hard to get crunch to help you. I do not recommend this gym for that reason.

Well equipt gym. Quiet in the morning at the time I go. A bit too many machines in the weight room though, can barely move into some machines.
I've been to about 5 different Crunches in NYC and this one is my least favorite, which is unfortunate since I now live in Fort Greene.
Weight room in the basement is extremely cramped and I can never find any clamps.
There also never seem to be any towels.
My biggest annoyance is that they took out (as in got rid of) a number of weight machines (including the fly machine, which people used all the time) to make room for a bunch of astroturf. This is supposed to be an improvement? Now when you go in the basement to lift weights you get to listen to people flipping tires or whatever they're doing directly above you. Great!

Never sign up for the personal training sessions. They are so expensive and the program is horrible. When I wanted a refund for legitimate reasons, I went through hell. THINK BEFORE YOU ACT. It also expires quickly. They did not satisfy my needs.

I love this gym and I really wish I didn't see cockroaches in the locker room from time to time.
No steam room. The front desk staff is pretty cool unlike some of the other locations.
Everything was just ok, staff could have been better, classes could have been better, facilities could have been better. They have a lot to work on.
Too boxed in for the kind of money they're asking
I have used the facilities in the past. I was driving by and decided to stop as I was in need to use the restroom. Young last at the from desk (Jennifer) was adamant about not allowing me to pay even after I offered to pay...i will certainly attribute this to horrible customer service.
Not a fan of crunch gym I was invited by friend. That's why I live game stay with management.
The woman gave away my bike that I signed up online ahead of time for to someone that didn't while I was standing in front of her waiting to check in and then didn't apologize but just told me the class was full and it was my fault. Awesome customer service. Not.
Good, wish they had towells consistently and more boxing equipment

Fun workout gym, but music is too loud. Plenty of equipment and this gym has extras: lockers have a full stock of q tips, lotion, hand soap and tampons. Showers have shampoo and conditioner in each station. Gym has a vibrating massage ball and a vibrating roller foam you can borrow after your workout if you need to soothe your sore muscles.
Great gym, good trainers. The equipment is always up to date and the machines are repaired quickly if they do break. This is a split level facility where you have the Olympic weightlifting set in the basement and the cardio and circuit training on top.
Terrible experience!! They will promise anything so you sign for their trainer sessions, including additional sessions and a trainer program that sounds dreamy, but in reality is poorly organized. My girlfriend signed for four trainer sessions and in the period of two months she had theee cancellations with no prior notice form her trainer. The guys who sign you to the program seem super friendly, but do don't be fooled they are there to make money and sign you to as many trainer sessions as they can. They they will forget about you.
As for the facilities, the showers have fungus, the bathrooms are poorly maintained and half of the machines as broken all the time.
Well... Classes are fun, though often packed and you are likely to not get in if you are not there way ahead of time or didn't do online reservation for the popular ones. In a yoga class your mat will be immediately next to the other guy's or gal's and the droplets of your and their sweat will have a chance to join into one happy yoga puddle. Personal training can be hit or miss, and so can customer service. Basically, if you are there just to work out, no issues. If you need your membership frozen or training sessions postponed, it might take a series of nasty emails to get things done.
The GM Jason is very helpful. Gym is very clean and well maintained. Definately ask them about corporate discounts.
