I'm a newer cyclist, so I was really excited about the prospect of being coached on my form. However, there wasn't any coaching. The guy who introduced himself as the coach, Gabriel, spent the entire class scrolling through his facebook and occaisonally reading the onscreen instructions aloud. He didn't provide feedback to me or anyone else. When I asked him for help in improving my form, he told said he wasn't a coach and couldn't help me.

Earl is a seasoned coach in all disciplines of triathlon and can work with athletes of all levels: from those learning to swim for the first time to those trying to finish an Ironman in sub 9 hours.

The rest of the staff are of similar calibre and they make it a fun experience.

I mostly use Earl to improve the swim at the endless pool (which is not located at this site). Its a very valuable use of my time as it's very difficult to replicate the conditions of a triathlon in a lap pool. We get to trial different race paces, the surges in an open water swim, whilst getting valuable feedback on my swim stroke.

The bike sessions are fun, challenging and targeted to the goals of the client. The style of biking allows you to practise on different courses in a realistic manner whilst riding your own bike. It's great to do if you've signed up to a race and want to practise accordingly.

I've done a few CompuTrainer rides with Tailwind, and they are great! It's a great way to keep your training going, especially when it's cold out, and Earl also coordinates Compu rides for you to familiarize yourself with courses you might be racing for! I also did a swim camp with Tailwind Endurance where we all flew down to Florida for a couple of intense days of swimming and a bit of running! (Amazing outdoor pool, great coached workouts and an underwater stroke analysis) I'd definitely do it again. Go check out Tailwind Endurance as soon as you can!
