Nicely renovated. Generally good instructors and new general manager. Points off for the front desk manager, a millennial in his 20's. He appears to treat members with overall contempt (abrasively) in a petulant and smug manner.
His glad-handing in the front entrance seems disingenuous, simply for show, a facade used to perpetuate his condescension and rudeness towards members. As an opinion, he seems arrogant, patronizing and malcontent.
Customer service is not his forte, and customer service at the gym overall is poor as many other reviews also note. For example, if you ask a gym employee (e.g. someone at the front desk) a simple question, it may likely be met with snark and rudeness. They often seem irritated with simply having to do their jobs and sometimes do not know the gym's policies. Some of the employees do take their jobs seriously and are great; however, this seems to be an exception rather than the rule.
Anyone can join the gym, so some of the clientele is conspicuously undesirable. For example, you may likely encounter hyper-aggressive, degenerate men in the weight room. They often have over-developed bodies and under-developed brains. They're very territorial about machine use and have little to no etiquette. They treat the equipment as though it's solely for their personal use, and seem oblivious to the concept of sharing.
Roid-rage and self-entitled millennial behavior are on full-display in the 5th-floor weight room. It's unfortunate because the equipment is nice.
People frequently use their cell phones in the locker room. This is a very disturbing phenomenon since most smart phones have cameras/video recorders built in. Some people use FaceTime, so you know camera use is active.
No one wants to be filmed surreptitiously while changing in the locker room, but there are virtually zero safeguards against this possibility, and ample evidence suggesting that's what people are doing or trying to do. The gym is way too crowded, and more often than not their policies are completely unenforced.
The facility has improved aesthetically. The new food court is nice, though overcrowded.
