After enrolling both of our kids in karate lessons, we are so pleased with how everything is going. Their enthusiasm and focus on learning seem to increase the longer they attend. They both come out of class, bursting with excitement about what they have been doing and want to share it with us. We are so happy to have found this gem, the best Karate School in New York, in our opinion. Igor and his tutors do a fantastic job, well done guys.
After researching different martial arts for kids, we settled on Karate for our son. He has a lot of energy, and we wanted to channel it into something positive. A friend recommended Karate City, and we are happy with everything so far. My son stays focused during the whole lesson (something he can find difficult) and is so enthusiastic after class. The tutors seem to able to provide individual attention to the students, so everyone sees progress. I would happily recommend Karate City to any parent looking for karate lessons for their kids.
I was looking for a new sport for my daughter to try and was considering karate. After her first lesson, she was hooked! She loves the lessons, and the tutors at Karate City really help her with individual attention whenever she needs it. Overall I am really impressed with the school, tutors and teaching methods. When we were researching Karate Schools in NYC for our kids, we came across Karate City. After reading lots of excellent reviews, we decided to give them a try. We have been so glad we did, our youngest son and daughter love attending kid's karate classes here. We have tried other places that seem to have a standard approach to everyone. It's refreshing to see how Karate City instructors focus on each individual. Our kids have progressed in their skills and understanding better than they would with other schools. It's not just about learning the moves here; they learn all about focus and striving to better themselves. We have seen a real improvement in their concentration in other activities since starting here, and we think the Karate lessons have had a real positive impact.
Karate City, NYC school has opened near our house two months ago. We moved to New York 3 years ago. Prior to this, the children went swimming and gymnastics after school activities. Now, our fitness room in our apartment has been transformed into a Karate Studio. :) After receiving a medal in the competition, the daughter was inspired and enrolled in more classes. After I brought my youngest son to this fantastic Karate School our life has changed for the better. This well structured Sports program improves our mood and energy every day. The youngest son has been engaged for 6 months and he is very pleased. The older son also thought about joining now. Thank you, Karate City for your Royal treatment!

11 years ago I met sensei Igor and he BLEW my mind. After 25 years of high level training as a 3rd degree black belt shotokan (former member of a national team), I HAD to learn new stuff,because Igor sensei had a different vision of what karate was. Back then we used to wait for the first student to come by and practice ,It was hard times for sensei Igor but he had a very positive attitude about this new school in new York city knowing that some competitors were already there ,BUT IT DIDN'T MATTER..he was The Best. We used to mop the floor for hours keeping ourselves busy and hoping that one student or two will come over for training.
I took advantage of his immense knowledge..to better my karate and myself as well. Till now I did not find such a professional and dedicated Sensei, I 'm challenging anyone who join him in his journey....and I bet you that you will be blown away...Ooooss.

I took my two kids to Igor's karate academy a while ago. It's heartening to see that my kids have grown in confidence and they learnt to be self-disciplined. Now they have become more responsible of their actions. They value the saying that "with great strength, comes great responsibility". Thanks Igor! To teach my kids some valuable lessons of life...
It taught me to be more confident and to learn self defense. I recommmend it to every body.

Great karate school. I have been taking lessons with Igor for 3 months and have never experienced such a dedicated and professional trainer before. As for my personal results: I have lost about 11 pounds of fat and feel a lot stronger. Do not expect to become Bruce Lee in one month, but if you are looking for long term results and life long sport D-Dojo is definitely a place for you. Thank you Igor for your dedication!
