I found Karina's practice via google in a desperate attempt to fix my 4 year old shoulder pain. I've been suffering for more than 4 years. Been in and out of pain management, PT, steroids and acupuncture.
From the beginning Karina knew my concerns and aim. After a couple of weeks of PT not working effectively, she recommended I see a surgeon. I had my own in mind, but he also recommended hers. After evaluating both, I opted to go with hers. Good choice!
I scheduled surgery in April 2016. She asked whether she could observe and mentioned that she has done this before with certain cases. I guess it's because her PT didn't work and probably wanted to find out what actually was the reason and will know how to treat the recovery going forward. She was there for my 7:30 AM surgery, stayed till the end. It helped that she was there because she knew what was wrong. Speaking about going above and beyond, she definitely did.
I think the most positive experience is that Karina was constantly looking for new methods to get me fixed up and is always available to provide support. The one-on-one hands-on attention is so refreshing. The individual attention makes it easier to address the problems and have discussions on treatment options.
The only draw back was she was in such high demand and always traveling. I was left in the hands of her other capable PTs. She was upfront about recovery times, what was expected and a treatment plan. My last phase of recovery was interrupted with a trip abroad. She provided me with the necessary tools to keep on recovering. She checked in till the end. She was spot on how long it would take for recovery, have full ROM, strength, functionality and healing - 8 months. It was a tough road, but I'm glad I pushed through. Training for the NYC Marathon already.
I'd definitely recommend this modern PT place and Karina and her staff. Very professional and worked with my insurance plan.
