Atmananda and its community is truly the most spirited, organic, diverse, and genuine yoga studio I have encountered. When first walking into the new space on East 23rd Street, there was a welcoming, peaceful, and sincere atmosphere created by the individuals at the front desk, fellow students, the natural wooden infrastructure, and gentle lighting. Although I have only spent three weeks at the studio taking classes and participating in the 200 hour teacher training certification program, every day has brought new discoveries, increased strength, continual motivation, and inner peace. Classes offered are EXORBITANT in variety and welcoming for all yogis, even if it's your first time! Dance-based yoga, core-centered or cardio yoga, restorative yoga, prenatal yoga, and the traditional, formulated Atmananda sequence are only a few of the many classes offered. In addition, the teacher training program provides an even more in depth study including breath practice, meditation, self-healing, nutrition, philosophy, etc. that truly creates a holistic and comprehensive understanding important to both living and sustaining life, especially though the emphasis on safe anatomical alignment, for oneself and others. Please come experience, embrace, and explore this incredible studio and share in the joy of movement with fellow yogi newbies, practitioners, and lovers!
