After trying out a few different Pilates places, I'm so glad that I found The 100s. As a beginner, I was not only comfortable, but felt as though I was learning about the practice of Pilates and about the various reformer movements. I think it's important to not only understand the exercise, but also which parts of the body are being worked.
The instructor is extremely encouraging and is dedicated to making sure that you understand how to do each exercise properly. She is very knowledgeable about Pilates and even tells you which muscles are being targeted. During the harder movements, she worked with me until I completely mastered them. With an intimate environment, she is able to to give individual attention to each person, even in a class setting. Depending on your strength, she adjusts the reformer resistances to your specific needs. Not to mention, the classes are both fun and energetic with great music.
You really do get the most out of your 55-minute session. Although I was sore for a few days, I can't wait to go back again. I can already feel myself getting a stronger core!
I would highly recommend this studio to anyone who is looking to try Pilates for the first time or an expert looking to expand their skills! This studio is unlike any of the other Pilates places in Manhattan. 5++++ stars!!
