Studio Anya is my go to spot for smart and soulful movement training when I visit NYC. The level of knowledge and professionalism can't be beat; but even better the teachers are out of this world friendly and personalize my every visit.

Anya is my go to studio for aerial yoga, pilates and mat yoga. The instructors and employees are wonderful and will always help you on a personal level, giving you tips, answering questions and much more. What a great community! Highly recommend!

From the moment I walked in the door, i could feel the tranquility. I was greeted by a very helpful person at the front desk and i enjoyed a warm tea while I waited for my class. The class was amazing and the instructor was knowledgeable, poised, and clear. I look forward to going back again!

This is a review for the surreal experience I had with the lady at the reception on 2/16/18, at noon. I booked an aerial Yoga class through Classpass. I really wanted to try aerial yoga and I chose ANYA over Anti Gravity or other studios, based on my friend's recommendation. Upon arrival, I realized the Classpass réservation didn't properly go through, and since it was 12:01 I wasn't able to rebook it. I kindly asked the lady at the reception to allow me to book any other class that day, to compensate for the one I was about to take. She said that isn't possible, because teachers are compensated differently. I then offered another solution, to book another class with Laura, the same teacher, so we would avoid the compensation issue. Again, I was told no because "it would mess up their system". I pleaded with her, asking her to find a solution for me, as I deliberately went through 45 minutes of traffic for that class. She was unmoved. I sat down on the couch in front of her trying to find a solution, and she completely ignored me, going peacefully about her day. At 12:15 I decided to leave, and I respectfully told her that I've yet had to find a more inflexible person to deal with a potential client. Class pass is a perfect medium to identify studios that you like, and become their full time client. Treating people as if they wanted to commit a crime by attending a class they weren't signed up for, through no fault of their own, then completely rejecting any potential solution that could've easily solved the problem, is not something I'm looking from a yoga studio. I was not given any empathy, any smile, not even a glass of water, as I was visibly frustrated.
Thanks to this lady, not only did I waste 1.5 hours for nothing, but I also managed to get into a very stressful and unbalanced state, exactly the opposite of what I was looking for when I decided to go for an aerial yoga class at ANYA. Extremely disappointed, and most definitely would not recommend it to anyone.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. As a competitive athlete, I've been to many fitness classes over the years but this studio by far has the worst customer service/attitude towards clients. They have a 5 min late policy and if you're even a minute late, they won't let you in and DO NOT refund you. There's nothing on their website about the 5 minute policy or that you will not be refunded. The front desk person was very unprofessional and rude, repeating the words of a new client and did not try to resolve the conflict. Other studios try to fit you in to their later class or give you a refund, but this one doesn't. A total waste of time and money. You'll be much better of finding another friendly yoga studio.

Pretty sure they went under because they won't buz you up. The elevator won't stop on their floor 8th. they don't answer the phone number listed here or the buzzer on the door. You know what did work? their website that accepted our cc for a gift card. Wound up going literally across the street to yoga shanti for a class after waiting at their elevator for 15mins.

Just had my first Pilates class with Sasha. She was so positive, so motivating and even though I was having a hard time learning she kept being so encouraging. Can't wait to go back

SKIP! This studio's client service is such a disappointment, it feels like the antithesis of everything a yoga studio should stand for. I arrived a few minutes late to a class I had already paid for online. The woman at the front desk was so rude and patronizing; She would not let me into the class stating a 5 minute grace period, she would also not give me a future credit (so the class wasn't a sunk cost). It's common studio practice to have a 10 minute late policy however this studio has a 5 minute policy without even honoring a one time waive. It does not state anywhere on their website the late policy is 5 minutes. If you're going to have an extremely strict policy, please effectively communicate it to clients. Additionally, have a little compassion for your customers. You are on the 8th floor of an old Flatiron building with only one elevator; I waited almost 5 minutes for the elevator.

I came to Anya with the hopes of finding a relaxing practice; after a frustrating experience with the rude woman at the front desk (who said she's also the manager) I am feeling anything but relaxed. Sorry Anya, you just lost a valuable customer because of your unwillingness to provide decent service and lack of compassion.

TIP: If there is the slightest chance you will be late, I advise you to not purchase a class ahead of time.

I highly suggest going to other neighborhood studios instead. For yoga try Shala, Jivamukti, Atmananda (re-opened on 23rd St) and Sacred Sounds on Bleecker St. For pilates go to Sal Anthony's in Gramercy.

A fun and different type of yoga studio to try out. The instructors are very attentive and guide you through the class clearly, making it easy for beginners to advanced people alike.

Small studio and class, which allows for individualized attention. Focus is placed on correct posture and pose, but not much focus on intermediate poses.
