Just older and not as nice as the others, smaller and crammed into multiple floors. Also have to bring own lock

This equinox is really old and not nearly as nice as the other ones. The lockers haven't been updated so you either need to bring your own lock or exchange your ID for a loaner. Other than that the classes and equipment are typical. Yoga studio has strange columns all over, and can get packed, and it quite weird when you end up getting the mat directly behind the column.

Was a member here until this week, spent a bunch of money on things like PT etc and made some good friends with the training staff. But the level of service from the corporate / management of the gym itself after a few years has totally thrown me off staying at this gym. Constantly being nickel and dimed by their sales team and even General Manager: Alex Daniels shows zero respect for their long standing members. It's suppose to be a premium gym but you get treated like meat. Avoid.

This Is A Great Gym But Still Must Be Visited!

Potential members, beware:

If you reach this Equinox by phone and an employee says "come on by to try out the gym whenever you want"....the gym won't honor that...unless the SAME PERSON is working at the counter when you show up for the trial.

How would you know that person's schedule?

Asking politely to speak with the manager doesn't help. Avoid.

Can someone please turn the bar holders on the squat racks to the outside vs. the inside. Just think about how painfula and useless it is to have them the way they currently are

This is my neighborhood Equinox. Compared to the other Equinoxes, it may be a little underwhelming. Given the location, it's perfect.

The stairs can be a little annoying, and it is quite busy at peak hour, but the equipment is good and the showers and lockers are in great condition. A very solid Equinox that I'm glad to go to in the mornings.

Solid service from Emily Strom, in membership services today. Plenty of good info and none of the gimmicks.

Always well equipped and especially well suited for those of us who find trainers that help you "step it up a notch" ......more than you would do by yourself.

My husband and I visit this club more than the one's near our work. I've been going for a few years now and love that I can take a class and leave my toddler in the Kid's Club. The 2 hours maximum is just enough time to take an hour yoga class and shower. I feel comfortable at this club unlike some of the others in the city, they don't have the same "home" vibe that Brooklyn Heights have. The young lady who works in the Kids Club during the week, Dana, is very helpful with my toddler who can be a bit of a handful. I think as a parent we all want to feel that our kids are in good hand's and that's how I feel with her.

Great job Brooklyn!

Trainers only smile to people that pay private sessions, it's weird. Trainers hang out there all the time and work out as if they were customers, but bad customers... using several machines or spots at a time. Not a friendly environment.
Other than the bathrooms in the locker rooms, there are no restrooms in the 4 floors which makes it uncomfortable to go upstairs/downstairs all the time.
Mary O is great and she should give more classes in this location.
