I've been going to Bar Method for over a year. I used to frequent the Soho location until they closed. The cobble hill location is fantastic. They have two large rooms with good ventilation. The changing room has two showers and all the amenities. I believe there is also a daycare for fitness moms! The teachers are incredibly attentive and adjust you before you hurt yourself. The front desk staff is always friendly and they go out of their way to learn your name. The workout itself is challenging - don't be afraid if you're legs shake the first time! That just means it's working.
This Bar Method location is fabulous! The instructors are super friendly and helpful, it's extremely clean, there is a variety of people and body types, and the shower/locker room is great. I recently started coming more regularly after spraining my ankle (as barre and pilates was actually recommended by my doctor to strengthen the ankle muscles), and I'm feeling much stronger after about a month of coming 3x/week. I've never been able to do a solid push-up in my life, and now I can! I look forward to the classes and appreciate the neighborhood vibe of this studio. Definitely give it a try!

The staff could not be nicer. I love that they know everyone's names and make you feel so at home. During class the fact that they correct your form is the best possible thing. I can't say enough good thinkgs about this studio.

I love Bar Method so much. Best thing I do for my body, these days. I walk a lot and do BM and I feel stronger and healthier than I ever have. Not to mention the most helpful and kind staff--from the founder who is often present, to the killer teachers.
This is my favorite place (cobble hill, but I'm sure w.burg is just as A+). Do yourself a favor and try the new client special.

The instructor was great. She chatted with me briefly before the class to tell me the differences between this and some other bar classes I was more familiar with so that I felt prepped and comfortable. She made individual corrections on form through out the class which I am a huge fan of. Overall, it felt personalized. Also, it left me more sore (in a great way) than other classes I have taken and there was more stretching incorporated.
It's hard to know how to begin to explain how impactful Bar Method has been on my life. I used to be someone who just barely tolerated occasionally working out. Now, I'm someone who goes to barre class 3-4 times a week, wakes up earlier than I have to so I can get to class, and can't stop talking about how much I love it to everyone who will listen. Bar Method does such a wonderful job of welcoming you into their community and making you feel truly valued as a customer. It warms my heart when I walk in and everyone knows my name - and I mean everyone, they have some sort of amazing magic trick where they can learn your name instantly! The classes are structured so that you'll work hard whether its your 1st or 100th class; the instructors are amazing at giving you modifications and challenges so you can work harder if you're ready to try. Plus, they're fantastic at giving you small corrections throughout class and explaining the positions (not too fast or too slow) to ensure you get your maximum workout. I've been obsessed since my first week in January 2017; I've been going regularly for about 10 months now, and I am constantly in awe of how these classes have toned my body and given me overall strength and energy. Bar Method is, quite simply, the best.
I really like the personalized approach to exercise. Bar has never been an easy workout for me, but I really like the challenge and the personalized corrections I get each class. Recently I had the lovely experience of being told by two different teachers on two different days that they had both noticed a marked improvement in my posture and form from when I began taking bar classes at the top of this year. It's really lovely to attend classes at a space where the staff notice you in this way- it really makes me feel like the teachers are doing as much as they can for my benefit in each movement!

It has a full women's locker room with showers that you won't mind using. The studio reflects the community where it is located. The teachers and clients are mostly young, thin, white women but the staff is equally welcoming to all-comers. I have been taking classes here for a couple of months and am seeing good results. The classes continue to challenge me and keep my interest. If you already love bar classes and need a great studio, or if you just want to try it for the first time, Bar Method Cobble Hill is an excellent choice.
I am a pretty active person (take spin classes and dance classes) but ever since I started coming to Bar Method, I've noticed a change in my body. I feel stronger, leaner and more toned. All of the teachers and staff are great, they know you by name and help make sure you are working out in proper alignment when in class. I can't get enough of barre class!
