This is the best gym in the city. Everything is well-maintained and clean. Most of their workout equipment are latest and the lockers are amusingly neat. They have expert trainers and fun fitness classes with affordable membership fees. Overall, Crunch Fitness - 23rd Street gave me the best gym experience ever and I'm highly recommending it.
In my humble opinion Crunch Fitness is one of the top gyms in the city if not the #1 gym in New York City. I'm very happy with the value. I belong to all the gyms. This location is awesome. Very good vibes. They keep it clean too. Crunch Fitness really is on top of their game. I like the new Crunch Fitness hats too. They look cool.
Got a membership here recently and I'm loving the results. Been going at this for about two weeks and I'm totally happy with the set up and well maintained this place is.
Crunch on 23rd is a great gym. It has three floors of space with all the equipment you could want for a good workout.
First, the locker rooms are large with about 300 lockers. The separate shower section has about 10 stalls.
There are plenty of elliptical, rowers and treadmills for your cardio needs. There is a lot of open floor space for stretching or pushing the sled. There is also a separate space with pullup bars and kettlebells.
Another floor has all the free weights anyone could need. There are three Olympic lifting platforms with lots of bumper plates.
Lastly, there is a separate section between two floors with a lot of cable machines for various types of exercises.
The 23rd street location is a premium spot so it may not be available to all types of memberships.
Incredibly not nice manager on New year's day. Thanks to whom I won't be taking out a membership. A.m. it was.
Has an inflexible operations manager who unfortunately prefers to stick to hard rules rather than explaining them for class pass users. May bump up score w a bit more explanation, specifically, why a 30 min window for gym entry is in place when the reservation is for 2 hours.

After having a sour experience with a cancellation process I can't even hold crunch accountable for my banks wrong doing. I want to thank manager Troy for reaching out and truly helping me in the manner over the past few weeks as well as Jasmine from membership services. Not every manager you may come across will be as helpful as the two mentioned above but you both have my gratitude for your time and help.

I canceled a membership by the book and management and the billing department give you a run around as to never return the refund you're entitled to within the companies own guidelines. No one wants to take accountability, management never returned a call in 3 weeks even with weekly calls to follow up. You have to show up in person only to get more excuses to waste your time without them resolving anything. Very quick in taking your money yet not responsible when it comes to returning that which is owed to you.

Crunch is quick to reply to a review but not practical when it comes to emailing or calling a member who has a complaint when money is owed to him.
I have showed proof in my bank account associated with the card I provided on my date of enrollment apparently no refund has been issued into my account as I have the proof. So apparently your Director of membership advisors Ms.Henry must have typed in the wrong debit card information being that my account was closed and banks block the cards immediately not allowing transfers to go through so that mistake from your behalf is costing me my money. I will be reporting this business to the better business bureau and having my lawyer take all bank proof to file a claim because i didn't enter the banking info i handed my card over to your Manager if she made a mistake that out of my hands and not my fault.

Really love this place. Lots of space and great interior lighting.
This location is amazing, really well maintained and luxurious. Unfortunately it doesn't have a sauna nor a steam room... bummer.
Been primarily training at this Crunch site. Well maintained by staff and all the equipment are in good condition. Compared to the site on 38th, this one has more space. My only complaint is that the bathrooms in the [ladies] locker room lack effective ventilation, which means odors sometimes permeate into the rest of the locker room. Classes are personal trainers are solid.
No one at Crunch cares that I was sexually assaulted. On September 8, 2016, it was my birthday. I decided to come to Crunch 23rd Street and do a workout around the middle of the day, so I could enjoy the rest of my birthday and celebrate in the afternoon/evening. I got into the locker room and I was sexually assaulted by a guy I didn't know. Everything happen very quickly in that locker room and changed my life forever.
I went to the Crunch staff after it happened because I was having an emotional breakdown. I literally couldn't function or believe it happened to me. They did fill out an incident report in the manager's office, but they didn't offer any other help or assistance. They didn't contact the police or medical help for me. Instead, they told me to go on my own sometime to the police if I wanted to do anything legally. I could barely walk from the shock of everything, but when I arrived at the police station they told me Crunch should have called them to the location to come help me and not tell me to walk to a police station on my own. I had just experienced a horrific event and I was in no state to have to deal with this on my own.
No one at Crunch Gyms has ever contacted me since to see if I'm OK or offer any help. I've been going thru therapy to deal with everything and I have taken legal action thru the NYC DA against my attacker. I'm just disappointed that no one at Crunch Gyms cares about me or has bothered to check
