I've been training with Workout Loft for a short time now, and I like it so far. It's a boutique personal training company that operates right out of Steel Gym in Chelsea, and they hook you up with a meal plan and workout routine. It's a little bit more 'involved' than just regular personal training sessions at a Bally's or whatever, but it's good. The only downside is that you have to commit to a 24-session workout package upfront for $2400 -- which isn't too bad when you consider that this is New York and everything is expensive. But it's a bit daunting to 'jump in' and do that.
They call it Workout Loft because there are several trainers who will work with you. So you'll train with Person A on one day, and then another trainer on the next, and they rotate. The good thing about this is that each trainer has his own specialty and is able to work your body in a different way. The 'bad' thing about this is that it can be hard to have consistency sometimes because you're working with different people a lot of the time.
Check out the website, think about it, and consider it. So far, I'm liking it though.
