The Greenwich Equinox is VERY poorly managed. They have discriminated against me on numerous occasions and have made me severely reduce the amount of time I spend at the gym, further impacting my health. The general manager, Greg Kershaw, as well as the group fitness manager, Jack McGowan are particularly egregious and incompetent. I am in the process of changing gyms; to all prospective members: stay away! You can find a better "experience" for much less and actually be treated like a human being. Do yourself a favor and save $250 a month for nothing!
25yard swimming pool, 3 lanes. Unfortunately the water is pretty murky, doesnt make the best impression. The life guards only sit around and dont help to enforce a bit swim etiquette or mediate for lane sharing the way they do it on the UES.
Rest of gym has natural light, its not newish but also not too dated yet.
I liked working out here 4-years ago when I moved to NYC. This location is definitely a has-been premium brand in decline. Within the past 2 weeks all the lighting has been replaced with hard, white-hot fluorescent lights like you would find in a Wal-mart. It's horrible! Several times recently, way before closing, the surly floor managers turn off all the TVs in the cardio area to make members leave early, so the floor managers can go home. But, make no mistake, your $220/month dues go up every year. It's no longer worth the price. The value is gone. I'll be terminating my membership next week.
Shower pressure here is terrible. My apartment has a better shower than this club. Left multiple feedbacks over 2 months and it still isn't fixed.

This used to be my Equinox of choice, but it is probably the most crowded one. The locker rooms are nice, but it is practically a sardine can anywhere near rush hour.
The different floors of the gym are OK: the weight training is a little cramped and always have to wait. That said, it's still a beautiful facility.

This place actually has WINDOWS! LMFAO! YEP! WINDOWS! 4 floors plus basement. Overcrowded during rush hours. Laid back crowd. Equipment on the 3rd floor is quite outdated. Women's lockers need door handles. I chipped my nail twice yanking that combo lock. They should renovate the entire gym. Shower water pressure is horrible. They need to remove the water restrictor inside the shower heads!! This would normalize the water pressure.

Equinox is a great brand, but this location could definitely be managed better. As many of the other reviews have stated, equipment is often not in the same place day-to-day, and the staff isn't always glad to see you. Because the issues are minor, I will keep coming here due to location convenience -- but they would certainly garner more customer loyalty by keeping an eye on the employee culture and the energy in the room throughout the day.

I've been a member for a couple of years, and even though its one of the most expensive gym memberships out there, the service lacks. I always need to look for jump ropes. They are never in its place! When you go to the 3rd floor office to ask for jump ropes, the staff just tells you where to look. For the price i pay, i expect to go to the gym and go through my work out sessions without delays. I shouldn't have to spend time looking for equipment. They have plenty of staff lingering around the floor looking at people. Also the jump rope quality is terrible.
Average facilities for equinox, arrogant and unhelpful staff, mediocre cleanliness. Go to Bond Street for a proper equinox. Really dislike the management here and their "not my problem" attitude towards everything. I'd expect that attitude at LA Fitness - not Equinox where I'm paying an absurd amount of money for high quality service.
This is the worst equinox I have ever being. I live nearby. Wish this gym can be my regular, but it never stop disappointing. 1) the cleaningness is the worst. Dirty towels usually everywhere. 2) the steam. It can literally burn your skin. Non stop strong steam keep pouring out for about 10 minutes! 3) the pool. I swim a lot. The life guards here usually sit there doing nothing when people come in without shower! I even asked a life guard dude : why do you allow people jump to the pool without shower? He looked at me and took off his earphone and just dismisses my question with a unsympathetic shrug. Disgusting. Really wish this place can be better !
I love the spacious areas everywhere, I don't care the limited shower rooms. BUT the main studio's wood floor make my feet dirty and black every time! HATE IT!!!!!!
Great location, fun environment, in need of major makeover/upgrade, overall mediocre compared to the other Equinox locations in NYC and around the county.
