Was super surprised that I loved this. But I really did, great music and a super fun class.
The Class is amazing! I was really out of shape from not working out some time before I went to my first one, but it was exactly what I needed. Equal parts aerobics, Pilates and therapy, I always leave class feeling lighter and happier than when I came in.
BEST EXPERIENCE EVER. Not your average workout. More like a cathartic, primal dance amongst strangers with some burpees and squats sprinkled in. I was hooked immediately and can't wait for my next chance to go. Great location and welcoming atmosphere. No showers so just plan to wash up somewhere else after because you will sweat your and drank.
This is a mini account of my first class - Supportive teacher, high energy with music to support the class and rhythm, encouraged to move at your own pace, cleansing for the body and mind. Definitely plan to sweat. I look forward to another class.
Hands down the BEST class I have ever attended! Whenever I visit NY, I make it a priority to take The Class. During the last 2 years Iv'e experienced 5 teachers, all offering their own take on Taryn Toomey's teaching method. It's intense and sweaty...in a good way! I was worried it would smell a bit stinky, but not in the slightest. The studio is super pretty and smells divine. Over the music comes the voice of the teacher with spot on encouragement (which is never 'preachy') and moves you to move more than you thought possible and to connect to yourself, which in this crazy intense world is a huge relief. I always leave the studio feeling like my inner pressure cooker has safely exploded and that Iv'e hit the perfect inner reset button. Happy days :))
