It's a good gym (has more weight-lifting equipment than cardio equipment). The regulars here are decent people and sometimes go out of their way to help spot you or give advice on form. It also has private wifi.
Upon signing up you get a quick consultation with the staff on your diet & workout regimen, customizing both for the goals you want, and a quick analysis of your body fat.
Staff are friendly, wouldn't count on them to hold a lengthy conversation (as you shouldn't).
There are a healthy amount of weight machines & loose weights. There's a private room on the corner big enough & sparsely used enough for body weight exercises. There are two punching bags in that room. There's equipment and accessories to freely use along with both types of activities.
There are a few negative aspects that you should be aware of: the facilities aren't the cleanest, the equipment isn't brand new, and you'll find a lot of little things wrong here and there. There's an annoying lack of weight clamps, the air can sometimes be too hot and thick during your workout, there are leaks almost every time it rains, and the cardio machines are in rough shape.
But you aren't going to a gym like this to give a f*** about any of that.
You go to a gym like this if you want to be surrounded by people who are more experienced than you and farther along the route to a shared goal, or to go in and learn with a friend and work to achieve something through guided consistency & discipline.
So if you want 5-star everything, go f*** yourself. If you want to build some self-respect, go here.
All in all better than Planet Fitness.
