This place is a hidden gem. Great trainers who really care about individuals (they know you by name and help to encourage you to hit your goals). Dave, the owner, is really a great guy. Plus, the equipment is all top notch with plenty of space for workouts. The classes give you a nice variety, and it's nice to have the option of using the open gym if you don't feel like taking a class. Definitely recommend this over other Hoboken gyms.

There are not enough stars for this place - truly. I have been a member now for almost 6 months, and couldn't be happier with the results I am seeing, but most of all, the atmosphere of this training facility/gym, and that is what I'd like this review to focus on - because there is nothing like the feel at FF. It can be intimidating walking into a new gym at first, and even more so during a first class; worrying about "keeping up", etc. This is NOWHERE near the case here. The owner, Dave, was so incredibly friendly, warm, and thorough during my first tour, and I was immediately impressed when he mentioned that each client has a note section regarding any physical injuries/concerns, or medical issues, which all trainers have access to; this provides EVERY trainer in the facility with the knowledge of each individual in the class, and their personal needs. It has been frustrating for me over the years going to different classes having to re-explain to each trainer that I can't do certain exercises because of knee/lower back issues, etc., so I was relieved to hear this. It showed me right off the bat that this was a facility ran by PEOPLE, not corporate machines where the concern is "get em in and get em out...". Whether you are in a small group or a large group, you are always receiving the feel of individual attention as a result. There are people who start out here at all levels and ages and walks off life, and everyone is taken care of accordingly and with a patient manner by all the trainers, as well as fellow members! Even though I've been a regular for 6 months, I often times need a refresher on how to do a certain exercise, or a reminder of a circuit that a trainer JUST went over because it is 6am and I'm still mentally asleep, LOL, and everyone is extremely helpful and will demonstrate again. Because of the welcomed/community/teamwork atmosphere at Fit Foundry, I never feel as if I'm "forcing myself to go workout" - I always enter with the feeling that I'm going to kick some ass today, surrounded by awesome people, many of which I now call friends! ::insert "Cheers" quote about wanting to go somewhere where everyone knows your name:: Thank you so very much for opening Fit Foundry, Dave, and reminding us that kindness, and treating people as PEOPLE (not a bunch of randoms taking a class who need to get in and out) ..., goes a long way. Thank you to the amazing trainers at Fit Foundry who work alongside Dave (Sarah, Eddie, Max, & Dan) for all that you do, and for creating a true sense of community for all of us members.

I started the 30 day trial at Fit Foundry in April 2017. I was apprehensive about starting out because I've tried CrossFit and other high intensity work outs and felt that these "extreme" type of group workouts weren't for me. I met with Dave and felt relaxed instantly - you can tell that he and his wife, Sarah, are trying to create a community environment where their members can work on their goals in a comfortable, laid back environment. All of the instructors (Dave, Dan, Eddie, Max) are encouraging, positive, and genuinely nice guys to be around. There are no egos at the Fit Foundry. I like that the workouts are challenging and there is an element of competition but really you're only competing with yourself. I've been going for 4 months and I've noticed serious changes in my body and I look forward to waking up at 5am and starting my day with a workout (seriously!). I started with 10 lb weights for the dumbbell overhead presses and now I'm using 25-30 lbs. I went to deadlift a 50 lb weight and Dave handed me 70 lbs and said I could do it (I thought he was crazy but I actually did it). It's an amazing place with great people - very fortunate to have found it!

I have been a member of Fit Foundry for over 2 months now and am so happy I decided to sign up. In the short time I have trained at the Fit Foundry I have learned so much about exercise and living a healthy lifestyle. I have certainly seen results. I have taken sessions with all five of the trainers and they are all incredible. Dave, Eddie, Max, Michelle and Sarah, create a vibe that makes me want to come back everyday, something I most certainly did not feel at the other gyms I went to. The small group personal training sessions are amazing! Although they occur in a group of 2-4 every member of the session receives the attention necessary to do the best that he or she is capable of.

I also take 2-3 large group sessions a week and really enjoy the strength based Titanium sessions, and have recently found a new appreciation for the HIIT style Inferno session. You can't go wrong with any large team session you take at Fit Foundry. I am not a morning person and hate waking up in the morning, but when I know I have a 7am Titanium large group, I am always excited and ready to get up and work out. I am so happy I found Fit Foundry and can't wait to continue my training.
