I recently moved from the west coast to Hoboken and discovered Surya. Over the past couple of weeks, I have tried different classes with them at both their locations. Love it so far and plan on continuing my practice with them. My favorite teacher are Sarah, Vikram, Gagan, and Dima. Others are excellent as well. The staff is very helpful and the studios are clean. HIGHLY recommend them!
Great and conveniently located hot yoga spot in Jersey city! Very close to the grove street path for those commuting to class. I'd recommend this studio for all levels. The instructors are great at offering variations that suit wherever you are in your practice. As with many studios in the area, it can get crowded during peak time so I recommend arriving 10 mins early to secure a spot as that leaves enough time for everyone to get settled prior to the start of class. Wish they wouldn't take late arrivals!!! It's disruptive to everyone. Otherwise a very welcoming community and studio.
As a newcomer to hot yoga, I've loved classes at Surya. I'm always offered a challenge, but with plenty of options and guidance, and I feel an improvement with each class. Every instructor I've met has been welcoming, helpful, and inspiring. The space is lovely - clean, inviting, and beautiful. I love it!
I've been going to Surya Yoga in Jersey City for a month now and have enjoyed my experience. Teachers are very knowledgeable and encouraging an the studio is clean and bright. I've only attended heated yoga so far but the classes are on par with many of the best rated hot studios in the city.
Really great atmosphere for Yoga practice even for beginners. Love the challenge of hot yoga as well as the very helpful staff. Would recommend to anyone, even someone new to it all.
I just started working in Jersey City and discovered Surya Yoga! I had had a bad experience with hot yoga before, so i was nervous to try it again, but I am SO happy I did! I had a spinal fusion surgery a year and a half ago and have just started getting back into a yoga practice... well, Surya has been my blessing!! It has helped so much with the stiffness in my back muscles and been the missing link to my recovery process. I feel so grounded and empowered every time I leave there. All the teachers are excellent! But I did the lunch class with Troy today and it was amazing- Exactly what I needed, so thank you!! I can't wait to continue furthering my practice and utilizing Surya! I would recommend this studio to anyone and even got one of my girlfriends to sign up for her first month. Anyone that is looking for a yoga studio in Downtown JC, Surya is where it's at. Thanks guys!!

I have taken 5 classes so far and am now a devoted practitioner of hot yoga. The instructors at Surya are wonderful--they each bring their own personality to class. I love the energy and spirit of this place.
