Friendly staff, very spacious facility and provides parking which can be quite challenging in Hoboken
Great gym - everyone, staff and customers are very nice and welcoming. Staff is great with helping all kinds of people achieve their fitness goals - and they make it fun!

Ashley and his training is wonderful. Best coach I've ever had and he cares about your well being before your fitness. Never pushing anyone outside of their comfort zone, but just close enough to it that you will see results. The best fitness level I ever reached was while working with Ashley and I miss this gym every day.
Hudson River Fitness is a higher priced gym, but they charge what they are worth. Professional, certified trainers carefully monitor your progress during classes and goal sessions. They know the science of muscle building, mobility, and weight loss and answer all questions. Smaller classes allow for more attention from trainers and really has a community feel. One time, I was the last one to finish the burpees, and I really wanted to give up. People who had finished already, joined me in doing them so I wouldn't do them alone and cheered me on. I thought "I can't give up now, these people are doing extra burpees for me!" As someone who regularly quits when workouts get hard, I finished the work out. Every. Single. Rep. If you are serious about strengthening your body and mind, do yourself a favor and sign up.

If you're looking for a welcoming group class environment, but don't find the Crossfit mindset appealing, Hudson River Fitness is an excellent fit. The trainers are a physical therapist (he's the owner) and a physiologist, so the approach is grounded in their medical backgrounds and. Classes are designed to get you healthier and stronger in a way that's smart, safe and fun.
Highly recommended if you want results, but don't want to be treated like you're in some brutal boot camp.
