Namaste! Enjoyed going here for a class. Have some lower back problems from driving so much. Learned lots of great exercises to help me stretch my sacrum (I think thats what they called it) out. Anyway, great instructor and they didnt make me feel intimidated by not knowing what all the moves are.

Komal is an amazing instructor. She works well with her students and offers a lot of guidance throughout the class. Sacred souls is a great place to come to after a tiring day.

Highly recommended Yoga Studio in Jersey City!
I joined Sacred Souls Hatha Yoga class as a beginner along with my mom.
It was a 1 month long course for unlimited number of classes, which was pretty ideal for us.
Our yoga instructor Komal is simply the best, we loved her techniques, the patience with which she teaches all poses along with the individual attention.
She makes sure everyone takes their own time to master the poses & try it with lower difficulty levels.
The studio space is very beautiful, with lots of plants, natural light, huge windows & always smelled so pleasant.
Komal also provides free yoga mats & support bars, in case anyone needs them.

A very calm and soothing ambiance specially for evening classes. Komal (instructor) makes it easier to understand the poses while performing them. Approachable and safe. Timings suit for working professionals as well. Overall a very good yoga place just around the corner.

This yoga studio truly is sacred. The lessons learned here are not easily discerned, but readily offered. It welcomes humility as students are required to leave their shoes at the door. But once inside, one is graciously provided all the tools to have a positive experience: mats, blocks, throw blankets. While many yoga studios cater to the pretentious with "new age" distractions, this studio supplies what the soul truly needs to discover the essence of what we are, as we are. The windows, candles, and plants are an added bonus and a surprise to the waking soul. Like a child awakening to their senses of sight, smell, hearing and touch, the studio offers textures and elements to connect with the natural and nurture what is present but oft ignored. The studio's intimate and warm space, matches the demeanor of its instructor, Komal. Her gentle guidance through deceptively simple poses invite quiet exploration. For me, this journey to becoming more authentic as a human being, is to also honor the truth. "No frills" is what I have resisted all my life (thanks to my inflated ego) but what I needed all along. Here, one can sit alone and focus and hear those thoughts running...and let them all go. The awareness that I am a child when I'm holding "Child's Pose" is not lost as Komal instructs the students to hold this pose the longest. May all souls that wander here be made whole and open their hearts to all that is sacred.

While I was going through a tough time in my life, I decided to try alternative methods to help me get over my obstacles and eventually be able to enjoy my life.
After visiting more than a couple of yoga studios website's I came across Sacred Souls Yoga studio and something told me that this was the place. I left a message expressing my interest in private yoga lessons, which was answered the following day. With no time to waste, I made an appointment right away.
Today, I am almost done with my ten sessions. I can only speak from my own experience; I have not only found a fantastic yoga instructor but a beautiful human being.
Komal is caring, passionate and her energy made me feel at home. I was the kind of person never to write a review. However, I now realize that sharing the positive multiples in beautiful ways.

Thank you, Komal for your kindness and if you are reading this review, I hope that has made you feel positive about something that I know love.

Best regards,
Camila

The space is on the smaller side but absolutely beautiful with plants and huge windows. It's an incredibly intimate and calming atmosphere. I've only taken one class thus far but I left with a sense of mental and physical clarity. I think these classes would be perfect for someone interested in a less intense practice. Or for those that bigger studios do not cater to with their incredibly athletic and strenuous approaches. Sacred souls stands out amongst the rest by making yoga accessible to a wider variety of people. If you're looking to quite your mind, do some light stretching, and feel surprisingly sore the next day this is your place!

What a gem this yoga studio is in the heart of Journal Square!
A true sanctuary to practice a gentle form of Hatha Yoga for
beginners and more experienced students as well.

The instructor, Komal, has created a very comfortable environment
and is very helpful in the needs of each individual student as she
guides each class. She has an intuitive sense of what each individual needs
and leads each class with a calm steady flow with slight variations from class to class
which keep it interesting and fresh.

The space itself, with it's large windows, angled towards the sky,
is very comfortable and peaceful, lending a feeling of relaxation and calm
from the very first moment.

A wonderful treasure in Jersey City where you can leave the whirl/d outside the door
and down on the street, and pursue a mind, body, spirit practice with like minded
people. Thankful to have found this studio in the neighborhood!

I'm so happy to have found a yoga studio so close to home. Location and class times are convenient and the space is clean, warm and inviting. Yoga mats are provided to use during class at no extra charge! I really appreciate that pricing is reasonable and the energy is totally unpretentious, a welcome contrast to many yoga studios in the metropolitan area that I've been to over the last decade. Classes are mostly Hatha style, and while I've gotten used to Vinyasa throughout the years, I've grown to prefer Hatha in the way it's taught here- building the core and calming the mind much more than I imagined. Komal is a very gifted and knowledgable teacher who's created a safe place for others to quiet their minds and be present in their bodies, reminding us of the true purpose of a yoga practice.

I have been coming to sacred souls yoga studio since 5 months. It's a pleasant experience taking classes under Komal. She is knowledgeable about meditation and proper yoga postures. The studio is small every class has around 4 to 5 students, after the class you have very good experience. We do asanas to stretch full body and Breathing exercises to calm mind. Price is also less per class if you take package.

It is such a joy to have a place to practice yoga so close to home!
The view from the studio is amazing (motivation to make the early bird classes!) and the small intimate space allows for great personalized attention from the instructor. Very different from some other studios where you are lost in a sea of faces.

The instructor, Komal, is amazingly grounded and intent on your personal development in yoga. I love that each class is a fluid experience that includes poses, meditation, breathing exercises and relaxation. I usually bring my own, but it is also so convenient that yoga mats are available to use (perfect for a session on the way to work, or on the way home!)

I can't enough good things about Komal and Sacred Souls Yoga!

This is what yoga should be: slow, quiet and meditative. I had practiced for a long time at studios where instructors talked the entire class, manipulated students into postures beyond their comfort, and played distracting music. I had come to think that sweating and exertion were what I needed in a practice. But now I feel the opposite. Kumal's simple, purist approach has revealed the true benefits of yoga.
