Annoying service. Trying to cancel membership from last 4 months but they keep charging!! Manager is never there.

The gym was perfectly adequate, but unfortunately, like most gyms, they go above and beyond to force you to keep your membership long beyond you've tried to cancel. I had to call for weeks before I could get someone to give me information about canceling, and even then I was told I had to come in in person. When I said to do that I would have to take an entire day off work (I am now about 1.5 away from the gym) she said "well we're open from 5am to 11pm." Only when I threatened to dispute the charges did she say I could cancel membership by sending a letter. It was incredibly disingenuous and intentional to deter people from canceling. When I did send the letter canceling, I received a voicemail with a lecture in response. I moved shortly after I signed up for the gym and the few times I went there to exercise it was fine, but the trouble they put you through to cancel as if the gym is the center of the universe and I should drop everything for it made the whole experience disappointing. I recommend a gym with more honesty on the back end.

Some people just love to complain. There is nothing wrong with this gym. Been an member for a couple years now. Has everything you need. Does get a little crowded around rush hour but what gym doesnt? If you know what your doing you can work around the crowd. If you wanna watch movies sit home lol front staff always says hi and bye i dont understand what some people are talking about. My negatives would be, bring back the big punching bag and the yoga mats need some replacing. Other than that, workout and go home.

This gym used to be one of the best gyms I've been to. However, recently it started changing. Bathroom isn't as clean as it used to be, and frequently there aren't paper towels in there. Lately, shower stalls have no soap and there seems to be no plan to fix this situation despite numerous requests. A/V theater room is turned off and you need to go to front desk and ask for it to be turned on. This isn't a big problem, however asking for the theater room to be turned on each time you want to use it becomes a chore, and almost feels like I am begging for a service that is supposed to be provided. I can belay more qualms I'm starting to have with this gym, but these are the biggest gripes I have so far. I gave 2 stars for the old times sake, because I've been a member here for so long. I don't really want to switch to another club but I think I might have to since I don't feel comfortable about the cleanliness of the facilities, namely the bathroom. For old times sake, I am giving 2 stars, but it really deserves 1 star at the moment.

I absolutely love going to this gym, not only is it close from my home, but the staff ALWAYS greets me as soon as I walk into the door. But this gym feels like the future, it has a movie theater, so many great workout machines, etc. Plus I tried their protein drinks and it was amazing!! A huge A+ to you guys, keep up with the great work!

Rusty equipment there pully system is all beat up cant even fijnd right attachments no 35lb plate.. owner says boxing area of his gym is not a concern and leaves broken speed bag up for months

Nice gym, good price...upgrading their equipment as of late. Happy with the direction it's heading! Would recommend!

I had two trainers as a member. The first was ineffective (a third of the session was running in place) and the second was a little too casual and spent a lot of time on their phone. Reason for 1 star: I moved to D.C. earlier this year and had a difficult time cancelling, but was finally able to in April. All of a sudden I start getting a membership charge again in September. Called and was told a note was made in the system. October, same thing. There is a three hour window 2 days a week when the person who can fix it is available via phone - won't reach out to you but you have to call them. I should've cancelled in person before I moved but it was a rush job and there is no excuse for a charge to show up 5 months after successfully cancelling.

In response to the owner's note - It has not been resolved and I just got another charge - after receiving a confirmation last month assuring my cancellation would be backdated. My emails were sent to the gymsales at Bergen email address per the request of Christina - Subject Attn: Christina. Please let me know who I can speak to at another level because the current person handling this cannot seem to effectively cancel my account.

Been coming here for like 5 years. I have seen the ups and downs. The gym itself is small. Not nearly enough weight training equipment. The layout is pretty bad. Often times equipment is broken.
The gym is pretty clean. And most of the staff now is friendly but there is one particular person there that is nasty but I just avoid them.
The hours have improved since I joined but I go early early in the morning so whatever bro.
My real problem is with the billing. I refuse to give them my credit card information because last time I did I started getting fraudulent charges and my credit card company mentioned that the billing company is notorious for it.
Honestly I have thought about joining another gym but having this place literally down the block from my house makes it convenient.
I guess for now it is adequate for my needs but honestly due to the one employee there and their poor attitude I had to give only 3 stars.

Always crowded, small gym space, not open late and they don't even greet you sometimes. Bad service overall.
So that's why I cancelled but still was changed for 2 month after. Avoid!!!

I just signed up to this gym. It's cheap and close to home. I don't know why there are so many ignorant people on here leaving nasty reviews. What more can you ask for? It's cheap, clean, cardio equipment is in perfect shape. Staff is friendly though I haven't met everyone yet. I saw the owner for 2min and he seemed nice. The only thing they need is a stretching cage. If they get that, this place would be a 10 star gym. Stop complaining people and when the staff signs you up and tells you about the cancellation policy, just listen. They go over everything with you. No reason to complain. I should have came here instead of going to the other gym where it's dirty, smells, filled with guys who do steroids and machines are falling apart. Not here! I would never leave this place.
