A small gym, (compared to gyms like LA and planet fitness) with a variety of machines and free weights.
I've been a member for 4 years and I had to cancel, along with the rest of my family. The last 6 months the gym has been run into the ground by a lack of caring on the part of ownership and employees. The gym is never cleaned, one stall in the men's room has been closed for months now, and the men's bathroom has not had soap or towels in 2 week's. A lack of caring is shown when I asked for soap and was laughed at by the two "managers" and was told they are not putting anymore soap in there. Weights have begun to break and go missing and not being replaced or fixed anymote. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here, the way it's going it's only getting worse by the week.
I like this place, I left LA Fitness to come back. It's usually not crowded, and they have round plates.

I do not really know who is the manager or boss in the gym, I have taken the courage to write it publicly an event that happened this past Friday, May 18, I am a member of this gym for more than two years and I never saw anything like that until that day, was a person who works as a stuff who had a conversation with other members of the gym or I think, for my point of view is a lack of respect for the actions that your employee used to refer to clients of the gym appearance Hispanic, he began to shout While the whole gym was paying attention to what was happening, I tried more than once to try to fight with a member of the gym or I think so. had to go more people so that a fight is not made in the gym, after all this I think that for actions like that, for that lack of respect for other members of the gym, should hire professional and certified people.

Just received new equipment. Neighborhood gym feel, not too many people usually. No issues with membership or equipment.

I have joined many gyms in my life but east side fitness in Kearny is the best one yet. As soon as you walk in the receptionist cannot be more friendly, helpful and welcoming. A great way start to the day, a big smile and a big hello.The instructors are great and friendly . The scheduling is the best I've seen, consistent classes at consistent times. Morning and night, start or end your day with great people and a great workout. It's a small gym with everything you need and a personnel staff that makes you feel at home. Love it wouldn't go anywhere else.
Good variety of free weights. When I used to workout there...No ventilation!

When you write review like that you need present the whole story not only your side and feelings. First of all you got kicked out of the gym for harassing that lady and I witness it since it happened in front of me. You needed to be dragged out by the cops since you did not leave the premises when your were told. Even after I mention to you that you are on a private property and if gym staff asked your to leave you have to. But you made a big scene like a five year old girl and aggravated that lady further and escalated the situation. She was left with no choice but to call the management that instructed her to call police. And since you create the incident I am not surprised that they have cancelled your membership. The staff has to be protected from such harassment. Do you think that if you did this somewhere else they will give you a reward ? I do not think that any gym around this area would tolerate your behavior like that and if you did this somewhere else you will probably be press charged with harassment. There is a lesson learned for you since you still not a grow up that it is not your mommy's home and your BS will not be tolerated. For the future learn to be a man and treat a lady like a lady not like she is your buddy when she could be your mother. I hope you respected your mother so if you do remember treat every lady like that.
When comes to the gym I really enjoy the place and from what I see she is always greeted by many people with friendliness and responds with a smile. The gym has a lots of good equipment for low price . I have researched the gyms around this area and picked that one even I could easily afford any of more expensive ones.
